The announcement made the timing of a documentary about Williams especially consequential. A Lifetime crew had been filming during a period intended to document a career comeback. Why Williams has criticized the guardianship
In a January 2025 interview, Williams criticized her guardianship and described restricted access to her finances, as reported by The Guardian. Those are her public statements. The Washington Post’s account of sealed proceedings means the public cannot compare her description with a complete open court record or independently verify the financial picture from the proceedings.
