Enid Sinclair is Wednesday Addams’s roommate and best friend at Nevermore Academy: a bright, loyal werewolf played by Emma Myers. She begins Wednesday as a late bloomer who cannot transform, but by the Season 2 finale she has unlocked her abilities and is revealed as an alpha. Her final transformation saves Wednesday—and leaves Enid’s future uncertain.
Who is Enid Sinclair?
Enid is a student at Nevermore Academy and comes from a werewolf family in San Francisco. Netflix describes her as warm and loyal, qualities that make her a deliberate contrast to Wednesday’s gothic reserve. The two become best friends despite their opposing temperaments. Netflix’s Season 1 character profile introduces Enid and her family background, while the Season 2 cast guide identifies her as Wednesday’s best friend.
What can Enid do in Season 1?
She starts as a late bloomer
At the start of the series, Enid has not “wolfed out”—the show’s term for a werewolf’s transformation. Her family is concerned, and Enid feels bad about being behind. Myers described her state of mind this way: “Throughout the first part of the season, Enid is definitely wallowing because she feels bad about it.” Netflix’s profile of Nevermore’s students includes Myers’s comment and the late-bloomer context.
Her first transformation saves Wednesday
Enid first transforms near the end of Season 1, when she saves Wednesday from Tyler. The creators say it happens during a blood moon and is Enid’s first-ever transformation. They also connect a late bloomer’s first wolfing out on a blood moon with the possibility of becoming an alpha. Co-creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar explain the show’s werewolf mythology; Millar notes, “You always have to create your own mythology.”

How do Enid’s abilities change in Season 2?
By Season 2, Enid can transform without waiting for a full moon, and Netflix’s cast guide says she has fully unlocked her werewolf abilities. In Episode 6, she transforms without a full moon; in Episode 8, she proves her alpha status by saving Wednesday from a fatal burial. Myers describes the change: “She’s definitely grown as a person, because now she has fully unlocked her werewolf abilities.” Netflix’s cast guide covers her development, and its Season 2 finale explainer recounts the alpha reveal.
What does alpha mean in the show?
In the series’ fictional lore, an alpha is exceptionally powerful, but that strength carries risks. Gough says, “Alphas are a super leader, but they are also feared by other werewolves.” Alpha status can separate Enid from the pack she wants to belong to. The creators also say an alpha who transforms on a full moon may remain a werewolf permanently; Netflix’s finale account says transformed alphas cannot change back and may be isolated and hunted by other werewolves. These are rules of Wednesday’s supernatural world, not claims about real-world werewolves. The creators’ interview and Netflix’s finale explainer describe the lore.

What happens to Enid at the end of Season 2?
Enid transforms to save Wednesday and ends the season in wolf form in the wild north. Wednesday sets out to find her. Myers says Enid’s next challenge will be finding a way to turn back into a human, but the ending does not show whether she succeeds. Myers characterized the situation as: “Enid is going to be stuck as a werewolf, having some crazy adventures up in Canada.” The season leaves the outcome unresolved. Netflix’s ending explainer details the finale and Enid’s status.
