Gracie Abrams says she has no abs routine to share—and that the demand to explain her body has gone too far. In a February 5, 2025, interview with Cosmopolitan, she called the conversation “out of hand” and pushed back on the idea that her body is something the public is entitled to discuss.
What Gracie Abrams said about the routine demand
In Willa Bennett’s Cosmopolitan interview, Bennett asked Abrams how it felt that people online were talking about her abs and demanding her workout routine. Abrams answered: “It has gotten kind of out of hand. There’s no end to the discourse on women’s bodies, like Jesus fucking Christ! Shut up! It’s not complicated! It’s not your body. I don’t have a routine. I swear on my life.” Read the interview in Cosmopolitan.
That is the answer to the question: Abrams said she does not have a routine to share. It is not evidence about every exercise habit she may have; it is what she said in response to a question about the public’s demand for an abs routine.
Why her response is about more than exercise
In the same interview, Abrams described exercise in more than one way. She said she can feel sexiest when she feels physically strong and notices a difference in her mood on days she works out. She also recalled that during COVID, when people were staying home, she began doing Pilates workout videos “in an obsessed way” and “it became unhealthy.”

Abrams said people who knew and loved her checked in on her. She also spoke about working to unpack expectations around bodies and wanting to be someone she was proud of because she performs in front of many young people. Those are her reflections, not a diagnosis or a general claim that exercise is harmful.
Why the demand deserves a boundary
There is a difference between discussing an artist’s work and treating their body as a public puzzle with an answer fans are owed. Abrams’s response rejects that premise directly: “It’s not your body.” Her words make the boundary clear without inviting an audience to infer a hidden routine, diet, or explanation from her appearance.

A later Evening Standard article referenced Abrams’s response before offering general core-training advice from Pilates instructor Imogen Leaver. That service advice is not Abrams’s routine or an endorsement by her. The Evening Standard article is a separate fitness piece, not an answer to the routine question.
