Watch Chappell Roan perform “Good Luck, Babe!” at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards in the official artist-channel video. The performance took place on September 11, 2024, at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.
Watch the official performance
The official artist-channel upload is titled “Chappell Roan – ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ (Live From The 2024 MTV VMAs).” Its description confirms that it is her performance of the song at the ceremony. Watch the video on Chappell Roan’s official channel.
What happens in the performance
The staging gives the pop song a medieval setting: Roan appears in armor, knights join her onstage, and castle scenery and pyrotechnics frame the performance. Time described Roan dancing alongside knights in a full suit of armor, while TVLine noted the flaming-castle set.
Teen Vogue compared the visuals to Joan of Arc, but that is a press comparison—not a confirmed statement from Roan or the creative team about the staging’s inspiration. The available descriptions establish the medieval look, not a definitive concept attribution.
