Was the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce breakup plan real?
There is no verified evidence in the cited reporting that Swift and Kelce had arranged a breakup. The document circulating online was presented as a media plan, but Full Scope Public Relations denied that it had any role in producing or authorizing it. In a statement to People, as reported by Lead Stories, the firm said: “These documents are entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued or authorized by this agency.” Lead Stories reported the agency’s denial.
The document’s purported title was “Comprehensive Media Plan for Travis Kelce’s Public Relations Following Breakup with Taylor Swift.” It named 28 September as the date of a supposed breakup. Those details describe claims in a rejected document; they are not evidence that a breakup date was agreed or that the couple planned a publicity campaign. PerthNow covered the circulating document and the reported reaction. Snopes also reported on the purported plan.
Did Taylor Swift react to the breakup rumors?
Not in a direct public statement covered by the cited reports. PerthNow, relaying a Daily Mail report, quoted an unnamed source describing Swift as “unbothered and quite amused by this.” The source was not identified, and the account does not establish Swift’s own words or independently confirm what she thought.

The same report said the couple might make the purported breakup date special. That was also attributed to the unnamed source, not announced by Swift or Kelce. It should not be read as confirmation that the document reflected a real plan.

On 26 August 2025, Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post, according to the Associated Press. That later announcement is relevant context about the couple’s relationship, but it cannot verify what Swift privately thought about the 2024 document or validate the unnamed source’s account of her reaction.
In AP’s engagement coverage, Swift also discussed public attention to their relationship on the New Heights podcast. She said, “We don’t, really. I don’t see a lot of things,” and added, “My name can be in the actual headline, and it’s none of my business.” Those comments addressed public relationship discourse generally; they were not a response to the purported breakup plan. The Associated Press reported the engagement and Swift’s podcast comments.
