No. January 2025 was a tentative rumor attributed to online source Dusk Golem, not a release date announced by Capcom. The source later walked back the near-term expectation, and subsequent secondary reporting identified the game as Resident Evil Requiem and gave February 27, 2026 as its release date.
Where the January 2025 date came from
On May 3, 2024, Spark Newswire reported a statement from Dusk Golem, also known online as AestheticGamer. The source said January 2025 was a date heard previously and that the developers were probably still aiming for it, while stressing that game development can change. The quote is attributed to Dusk Golem as reproduced by Spark Newswire. The report does not establish a verified real name or formal professional role for the source.

What changed after the rumor
On May 28, 2024, Insider Gaming reported that Dusk Golem had advised readers to drop expectations of a near-term announcement, said release was not likely until 2025 or 2026, and apologized for the back-and-forth. What later reporting said about the game
A December 2025 Swissquote Magazine report used the title Resident Evil Requiem and reported a February 27, 2026 release date. That is later secondary reporting, not official Capcom confirmation established by the available source. See the Swissquote Magazine PDF.
