No formal cancellation announcement for People Puzzler is on record in the sources available. The last confirmed status is a renewal: on March 21, 2024, distributor Debmar-Mercury announced a second season of the show in national broadcast syndication. The available evidence does not show whether new episodes aired after that season, or whether anyone has formally ended the show. Treat “canceled” as unconfirmed rather than established.
Why the question is confusing: two separate runs
Most of the confusion comes from the show having two distinct lives. Keeping them apart is the key to reading any status claim correctly.
The Game Show Network run
The show began on Game Show Network (GSN). Apple TV’s listing describes it as a 2021 GSN game show starring Leah Remini, who also served as an executive producer. Debmar-Mercury later described the GSN run as having lasted three seasons. A December 2, 2022 release from Debmar-Mercury described the show as then in its third season.
The broadcast syndication run
After GSN, Debmar-Mercury distributed the show to broadcast stations. In its December 2, 2022 announcement, the company said it would offer 325 episodes to stations for fall 2023. That is the point where the show stopped being a cable series and became a syndicated program that individual stations schedule on their own. A national absence from one network’s schedule therefore tells you little about whether stations are still airing it.

What the March 2024 renewal does and does not establish
On March 21, 2024, Debmar-Mercury announced a second season of the show in national broadcast syndication. The release named Fox Television Stations, Sinclair, CBS, Nexstar, Gray, and Scripps as station groups carrying the renewal, and said the groups’ coverage reached more than 90% of the United States. That is the company’s own description of reach, not an independently verified figure.
The renewal shows the show was continuing in syndication as of that date. It does not show:

The same release gave audience figures. Debmar-Mercury said the show reached a recent high of more than 900,000 viewers, up 42% from its syndication debut. These numbers come from the distributor and appear in its own announcement; they have not been presented as audited ratings. Co-president Mort Marcus and co-president Ira Bernstein framed them this way: “The healthy ratings growth we’ve seen from PEOPLE PUZZLER in its first months in syndication has been nothing short of remarkable. Stations are hungry for proven performers and we are excited to be able to bring this winning game show back to the market next season.”
Timeline of confirmed status
| Date | Event | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| 2021 | Game show premieres on Game Show Network, per Apple TV’s listing | Origin of the show; says nothing about later status |
| December 2, 2022 | Debmar-Mercury announces 325 episodes for broadcast stations for fall 2023; GSN describes the show as in its third season | The move into syndication was planned, with a fixed episode package |
| Fall 2023 | Planned start of the first syndicated run | A planned date from the 2022 announcement; the release does not confirm the exact premiere date |
| March 21, 2024 | Debmar-Mercury announces a second syndicated season, with six named station groups and coverage described as more than 90% of the US | The last confirmed renewal; status after this date is not stated |
| August 17, 2026 | JustWatch’s US listing shows four seasons and Philo as a streaming option | A catalog snapshot only; it does not confirm production status or current availability |
What the streaming listing tells you
The JustWatch US listing checked on August 17, 2026 shows four seasons and lists Philo as a streaming service. That is the most recent dated snapshot in the available evidence, and it is useful for confirming that the show was still cataloged in mid-2026.

It does not answer the status question. The listing does not map its season labels to production or air dates, so it cannot tell you whether a listed season was newly produced, rerun from earlier material, or simply grouped differently by the catalog. Streaming availability can also change without notice.
Why no cancellation has been confirmed
- Debmar-Mercury’s press-release index lists the 2024 syndicated renewal. The material reviewed does not include a later renewal or cancellation notice for People Puzzler.
- No separate statement from GSN about ending the show was found.
- The absence of an announcement in the available sources is not proof that none exists. Syndicated shows are often ended quietly, through station decisions rather than press releases.
The accurate position is therefore narrower than a yes or no: the show was confirmed as renewed for a second syndicated season in 2024, and the record after that point is incomplete.

How to check the current status yourself
- Search Debmar-Mercury’s press releases for anything dated after March 21, 2024. A later renewal or cancellation from the distributor would be the most authoritative answer.
- Check your local station’s schedule. Syndicated programs are scheduled market by market. If your station still lists the show, new or repeated episodes may be airing there even when national coverage is quiet.
- Look at episode dates, not just season counts. On any streaming service, open the episode guide and compare air or production dates. A season label alone does not show whether it is new.
- Treat reruns as separate from new production. Repeats on any channel do not indicate that the show is still being made.
