No reliable confirmation in the reviewed sources establishes that Kevin Durant fathered Lana Rhoades’s child, or that Rhoades deliberately tried to make people believe he did. Reports describe an unnamed Brooklyn Nets player and clues that online users connected to Durant. That makes the Durant claim speculation—not a confirmed account of paternity or a documented “brief relationship.”
What is actually known about the rumor?
Rhoades announced her pregnancy in 2021. Know Your Meme dates the announcement to June 1, when she shared an ultrasound image. Later reporting described an anecdote from her 3 Girls, 1 Kitchen podcast about going on a date with an unnamed Brooklyn Nets player. The account did not identify that player as Durant. Know Your Meme’s timeline and Meaww’s report on the speculation document the distinction between the unnamed anecdote and the later guess about who it involved.
In 2022, Marca described Durant and Blake Griffin as names people speculated about, drawing on clues that included the Nets-player story and a Libra reference. Those clues were used to construct theories; they did not confirm who the father was. Marca’s account also says Rhoades had kept the father’s identity private.
Did Rhoades convince everyone Durant was the father?
The available evidence does not support that wording. It shows that remarks attributed to Rhoades became material for speculation, while online users made the connection to Durant. It does not establish that she named him, intended to imply he was the father, or persuaded everyone—or even the public as a whole—that he was.

A May 3, 2022 Raw Talk interview transcript published by Podscripts records Rhoades saying she wanted the father to remain anonymous out of respect for his wishes. Because this is a transcript site rather than an official transcript, the exact wording should not be treated as independently verified. The relevant point is her reported preference for anonymity, not an identification of Durant. Read the Podscripts transcript.
Why the clues do not establish paternity
An unnamed player, an astrological reference, or speculation about who might fit a description cannot establish someone’s paternity. The same clue-based discussion included Blake Griffin as another possible name, illustrating how the theories could point to different people without proving either one. The reviewed coverage supplies no direct confirmation from Durant or Rhoades identifying him as the father, and no authoritative paternity record.

It is also important not to treat a child’s appearance or resemblance as evidence. The child’s privacy is not a substitute for confirmation, and speculation about family relationships can turn an unverified theory into a claim that sounds established.

The reviewed accounts do not establish a relationship between Rhoades and Durant. They describe a date with an unnamed Nets player; identifying that person as Durant is an inference made in subsequent speculation. Calling it a confirmed brief relationship would therefore go beyond what these sources show.

The most accurate summary is that Rhoades’s pregnancy announcement and reported dating anecdote prompted online guesses, including Durant’s name. The available evidence leaves the father’s identity undisclosed and does not establish Rhoades’s intent to lead the public toward any particular answer.
