Entertainment Tonight’s June 28, 2022 account also reported the response from Depp’s representative: Depp was not in talks, and the story was “false.”

What did Depp say about $300 million and alpacas?
During testimony on April 20, 2022, attorney Benjamin Rottenborn posed a hypothetical: “If Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film, correct?” Depp replied, “That is true, Mr. Rottenborn.”
The exchange records Depp’s answer about his willingness to return under the hypothetical described by the attorney. It does not establish that Disney offered him $300 million, that he rejected an actual offer, or that negotiations took place. The April 20, 2022 testimony transcript is the source for the exchange.

What did Depp say about Pirates 6?
Asked about the sixth film, Depp said, “I believe it’s in dangle mode.” He also testified that he did not know whether or when it would be made. Those comments describe his understanding at the time of the April 2022 testimony; they do not establish the film’s current production status.
