She said the covering was removed digitally in post-production. That supports calling the finished image digitally altered, but the available accounts do not establish that a fully computer-generated nude body was created.
What Jessica Alba said she wore
In a contemporaneous interview with The Independent, Alba described being uncomfortable with screen nudity and said director Robert Rodriguez agreed to adjust the scene to suit what she was comfortable doing. The interviewer reported that her underwear in the shower scene was digitally removed.

A separate contemporary report quotes Alba explaining: “I had undies on, and I had other stuff on, and they just sort of etched it out in post production. That’s not really me. I’m better covered up.” The report attributes the remark to Alba in an interview with Michelle Rodriguez. Read the account.
Why the scene is described as digitally altered
Alba’s account that clothing was removed in post-production is the basis for saying the finished image was digitally altered. “CGI” is sometimes used loosely to mean digital visual effects, but the available reporting does not explain the specific technique used here. It does not establish that a new nude body was generated, or identify a compositing method, software, or other effects workflow.

What director Robert Rodriguez said
In a later interview, Rodriguez said people still believed Alba was naked in Machete, although she “was completely covered.” His comment supports the distinction between the audience’s impression and what Alba wore on set; it is not a technical account of how the image was changed.
