Actor Tomer Capone later pointed to Frenchie’s backstory with Cherie as an earlier glimpse; Season 4 made his relationship with Colin more explicit in the story.
What the show established before Season 4
The case for an earlier reveal rests on clues and context, not a direct identity label. In a TVLine interview, Capone was asked, “When did you know that Frenchie was bisexual?” He said he had considered the character’s sexuality by around Season 2 or Season 3 and identified the backstory involving Cherie as a glimpse of it. That is Capone’s retrospective interpretation of the character, rather than evidence that Frenchie explicitly named his sexuality in the episode.

Why Season 4 felt more explicit
Season 4 brought Frenchie’s relationship with Colin into the foreground. Coverage of the season discusses that storyline, making it a clearer on-screen expression of Frenchie’s relationships with men than the earlier Cherie backstory. TheWrap’s interview and Season 4 coverage addresses Frenchie, Colin, and his bond with Kimiko.

- The world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under Homelander's muscly thumb as he consolidates his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca's son, and his job as The Boys' leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they must find a way to work together and save the world before it's too late.
A later relationship can feel like a new development when earlier clues were less direct. But dating a woman does not rule out attraction to men, and the Colin storyline does not by itself prove that Frenchie’s sexuality was first introduced in Season 4. The distinction is between earlier suggestive material and a later, more overt plotline.

The headline works if “revealed” means seeded in the character’s history and recognized in hindsight. Capone’s comments support that reading: he connected Frenchie’s sexuality to material from the Season 2/3 period, specifically the backstory involving Cherie. TVLine’s interview with Tomer Capone is the source for that retrospective account.

It overstates the evidence if “revealed” means the show made a clear, definitive statement about Frenchie’s identity before Season 4. The available interview excerpt does not establish that, and the episode reference does not provide a transcript to confirm it. The most careful answer is that Season 4 made the subject more explicit, while Capone saw earlier clues in Frenchie’s backstory.
