Was Andy Cohen Cleared? What Bravo’s Investigation Found—and What It Didn’t

Bravo reported that an outside investigation found allegations by Brandi Glanville and Leah McSweeney unsubstantiated. The public announcement did not include the report, and a separate court order in McSweeney’s lawsuit addressed arbitration—not the truth of her claims.

Bravo said on May 9, 2024, that an outside investigation into allegations by Brandi Glanville and Leah McSweeney had concluded and found the claims “unsubstantiated.” That is Bravo’s reported conclusion—not a court ruling or a public account of all the evidence. The investigation’s full report, investigator, and methods were not identified in the coverage reviewed.

What did the investigation find?

A Bravo spokesperson told Entertainment Tonight that the outside investigation into recent allegations by Glanville and McSweeney “has now been completed, and the claims were found to be unsubstantiated.” The statement describes the conclusion Bravo announced. The public coverage did not provide the investigation’s report or enough detail to assess how it reached that conclusion.

For that reason, “cleared” needs qualification: Bravo said the allegations were unsubstantiated in its investigation, but the available account does not establish that a court adjudicated the allegations or that the investigation publicly proved what happened.

What did Brandi Glanville accuse Andy Cohen of?

Glanville’s legal team alleged in a letter to NBCUniversal, Warner Bros. and Shed Media that Cohen sent her a sexually suggestive video in 2022. The reported allegation was that the video described Cohen’s intention to sleep with another Bravo star while thinking of Glanville and invited her to watch by FaceTime. Those details are allegations reported by ET, not independently established findings.

Cohen acknowledged the video and characterized it as a joke. He said Glanville’s response indicated she was in on the joke, while also apologizing for its inappropriateness: “The video shows Kate Chastain and I very clearly joking to Brandi. It was absolutely meant in jest, and Brandi’s response clearly communicated she was in on the joke. That said, it was totally inappropriate and I apologize.”

What did Leah McSweeney allege?

McSweeney made separate allegations in a 2024 federal lawsuit. Her complaint alleged discrimination and a dangerous work environment, and claimed Cohen used cocaine with some Housewives and gave more favorable treatment and edits to people with whom he used cocaine. These are claims in a complaint, not findings that the allegations are true. A representative for Cohen called McSweeney’s claims “completely false,” according to ET.

McSweeney’s lawyer, Gary Adelman, challenged the investigation announcement and said he looked forward to reviewing its interviews, evidence and final reports during discovery in the lawsuit. That statement is counsel’s view and expectation; it does not independently establish how the investigation was conducted or what materials will be produced.

Is Leah McSweeney’s lawsuit still going?

The lawsuit has proceeded separately from Bravo’s investigation announcement. In November 2024, the parties argued over whether the case should continue; their lawyers’ arguments were not court findings. The Associated Press reported that the judge did not immediately rule at that hearing.

On March 9, 2026, a federal judge denied the defendants’ motion to compel arbitration, finding that they had waived the right to seek arbitration through their litigation conduct. The order concerns where and how the dispute proceeds. It does not decide whether McSweeney’s allegations are true or determine liability.
