Warrior’s third season debuted on Max on June 29, 2023, with three episodes at launch. Max later cancelled the series, as reported by TVLine in December 2023, so season three is the last season Max produced. It is a scripted period crime drama set in late-19th-century San Francisco Chinatown and based on Bruce Lee’s writings. The “Peaky Blinders meets Boardwalk Empire” framing in the headline is a taste cue for period gang drama. Only the Peaky Blinders link has a sourced basis, and it is a comparison voiced by others rather than a verified equivalence.
What season three is about
The Warner Bros. Discovery Pressroom announcement, “Season Three Of WARRIOR Debuts June 29 On Max” (April 27, 2023), sets up the season. Ah Sahm, a martial-arts prodigy, arrives in San Francisco and becomes involved with the Hop Wei, a powerful tong. In season three, Mai Ling uses government connections to consolidate power, while Ah Sahm and the Hop Wei look for new ways to survive. The season was announced after season two’s Chinatown race riots, which gives its power struggles a direct line back to the violence that closed out the previous run.
Why the setting matters
The official series description places the story in the late 19th century. The drama’s conflicts are tong rivalries and the pressure of an American city that treated its Chinatown as a place to police rather than protect. Warrior is a scripted fiction series. It draws on Bruce Lee’s writings for its premise but is not a documentary.
Where the series stands on Max
TVLine reported on December 18, 2023 that Max cancelled Warrior and that it would not return for a fourth season on Max. That report is the reliable basis for the series’ status on Max. It does not rule out a later revival elsewhere, and this article does not establish one. The same TVLine report says Max would share past seasons with Netflix, a non-exclusive arrangement.

Where to watch
Netflix’s Tudum article “Everything You Need to Know About the Action-Packed Drama Warrior” (March 14, 2024) said all three seasons were streaming on Netflix at that time. Availability is regional and has changed since then, so check the current catalog rather than relying on that date. The Netflix title page, accessed October 8, 2026, displays an unavailable notice for the country it was viewed from. A localized Prime Video listing for Warrior, Season 3, also exists, but that listing does not establish availability or purchase terms in other countries.
- Open Netflix in your country and search for “Warrior.” If all three seasons appear, the series is in your catalog.
- If the title does not appear, check your local Prime Video storefront for a Warrior, Season 3 listing.
- If neither shows the series, it is not currently available to you through those services. Check again before subscribing, because catalogs change.
The Peaky Blinders comparison
Netflix’s Tudum article draws a Peaky Blinders parallel, citing comments by Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee’s daughter. That is the only sourced comparison to another show in the material gathered for this piece. The overlap is real but general: both are period dramas about urban crime, rival criminal groups, and a protagonist who rises through a violent and politically exposed world.

The Tudum article also includes two remarks about the season-two riot scene, not season three. Perry Yung, who plays Father Jun, said: “I saw how the actors treated one another with deep care and sensitivity.” Hoon Lee, who plays Chao, said: “It brought the danger of that kind of historical experience closer to reality than I anticipated.”
The official Warner Bros. Discovery announcement gives the season-three release date and premise. It does not include a quotation from a named person in the text available for this article.
