Her earlier wins were “Envolver” in 2022 and “Funk Rave” in 2023. The 2024 result is confirmed by MTV’s official winners list, and the three-year sequence is reported by UOL and the Los Angeles Times.
The 2024 result
MTV’s official list of winners names Anitta and “Mil Veces” as the Best Latin winner for 2024. That list is the most direct source for the result, and it is the one to cite if you need a single reference.
Three consecutive wins, year by year
The “third time” in the headline refers to three consecutive wins in this one category. Each year’s winner is listed below, with the source that supports it.
| Year | Winning song | Supporting source |
|---|---|---|
| 2022 | “Envolver” | UOL and Guinness World Records (win dated 28 August 2022) |
| 2023 | “Funk Rave” | UOL; Los Angeles Times pre-ceremony preview |
| 2024 | “Mil Veces” | MTV official winners list; UOL |
The Los Angeles Times piece was published before the 2024 ceremony. It framed a third straight win as a possibility, which the winners list and post-event coverage then settled. It is useful for the lead-up, not for the result itself.

The record claim
A Paramount press release reports that Anitta tied the record for the most Best Latin wins, with three. UOL describes the 2024 win in the same way, as her third consecutive one. The Paramount release page could not be opened from every location when it was checked, so the record claim is best attributed to the press release as reported, while the sequence itself is confirmed by the winners list and UOL.
What Guinness records separately
Guinness World Records credits the 2022 “Envolver” win with two distinctions: it was the first Best Latin win by a female solo artist, and the first by a Brazilian artist. These are separate from the 2024 record and should not be merged with the three-win claim.
