That makes the answer clear for the television portrayal: Vhagar is larger, while Vermithor remains an enormous dragon in his own right.

Actor Kieran Bew, who plays Hugh Hammer, described Vermithor in a July 28, 2024 TVLine interview as “a dragon that’s the size of four houses.” That is a figurative description of Vermithor, not a measurement and not a comparison with Vhagar.

Yes, as a narrative possibility—but that does not make him the larger dragon. TIME recounts Jacaerys naming Vermithor and Silverwing as dragons large enough to stand against Vhagar. The point is their potential to confront her, not that Vermithor exceeds her in size.
