The film has two credits scenes: one midway through the credits that returns to Knull, and one after the credits that shows a bartender escaping Area 51 and a broken vial of symbiote material. They leave room for future Venom stories, but neither confirms a connection to Spider-Man 4.
How many credits scenes does Venom: The Last Dance have?
There are two: a mid-credits scene and a second scene after the credits finish. The first points toward Knull as a continuing threat; the last offers an ambiguous image that can be read as a possible symbiote-survival tease.
What happens in the mid-credits scene?
The scene returns to Knull in his prison after Venom’s sacrifice. As TIME reports, Knull says the King in Black is awake and that no one remains to protect the universe (TIME’s account of the ending and credits scenes). It puts Knull back in focus and signals that he may matter beyond this film, but it does not identify a particular next movie.
What happens in the final scene?
The bartender is shown escaping the destruction at Area 51. The scene then shows a broken vial that held a symbiote sample as a cockroach approaches. That image suggests a possible remnant or route for symbiote survival; the film does not show the cockroach becoming Venom or confirm that Venom has returned.

- In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel?s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie's last dance.
Do the scenes confirm a Spider-Man 4 connection?
No. The reviewed accounts do not confirm that Venom or Knull will appear in Spider-Man 4. TIME describes the scenes as leaving possible storylines open, while ComicBook.com treats a possible future meeting with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man as speculation (ComicBook.com’s credits-scene discussion). An open door is not confirmation of a crossover.
How the ending sets up the teases
Sony describes The Last Dance as the final installment of the trilogy, with Eddie and Venom on the run and facing a devastating decision (Sony Pictures’ film page). In TIME’s account, Venom sacrifices himself in an acid bath to destroy the xenophages and prevent Knull from being freed. Eddie survives and leaves for New York.

That ending makes the two scenes read differently: Knull’s return signals a threat still at large, while the vial and cockroach leave a deliberately uncertain possibility of symbiote survival. Neither image specifies where those threads would continue.
What director Kelly Marcel said about Knull
In an interview published October 24, 2024, director Kelly Marcel described Knull’s appearance as “just a little introduction” and “a little taster.” She also said she knew there were plans for future Knull movies, adding that he “just can’t be in this and then be done” (Den of Geek’s interview with Kelly Marcel). That is Marcel’s statement at that time; it does not name Spider-Man 4 or verify a specific project’s release, cast, or story.
