The Perth actor has described building a character playlist and recording songs in his bedroom, while also recalling how difficult it was to film away from family and friends. His account is of time away for the production—not evidence that he permanently moved from Perth.
Who Tyroe Muhafidin plays in The Rings of Power
Muhafidin plays Theo, the son of Bronwyn, in the series’ first season. In Amazon’s Season One character profile, Theo grows up in a poor village in the Southlands. Rumors about his mother’s relationship with an elf fuel his frustration, and the profile notes that his father is mysteriously absent.
Muhafidin described Theo as a young person trying to work out where he belongs. “I think Theo has a lot of questions, and he’s at a time in his life where he’s wondering what his purpose is,” he told Stephen A. Russell in a Flicks interview published 12 September 2022. He also characterized Theo as pulled between different voices and loyalties.
How he prepared to play Theo
In an A Book of Magazine interview published 25 October 2022, Muhafidin said he made a playlist to help him enter Theo’s mindset before filming. He named Kendrick Lamar, Aminé, J. Cole, Joey Bada$$ and Drake, explaining that listening helped him feel like a different person.

That was his personal preparation method for the role, as he described it in 2022—not a claim that actors generally need a playlist or that these artists shaped the series’ music. He also told Flicks that cast members rehearsed stunts for months and filmed a battle sequence over about two weeks.
Music-making alongside acting
Muhafidin told A Book of Magazine that he writes songs and records some of them in a bedroom setup with a microphone and computer. He estimated spending three to four hours in that space. The interview described him at the time as a student, actor and musician, and recorded that he was 17 in October 2022; that dated age is not a current-age figure.
In the same interview, he said his debut single, “In Honesty,” was due to arrive on 21 October 2022. That statement is a release announcement made at the time, not confirmation of the single’s present availability or release status.
What he said about filming away from Perth
Flicks described Muhafidin as an Australian actor from Perth. Speaking about the production period, he told A Book of Magazine: “I think the main challenge was being away from home.” He recalled being away from his family and friends for an extended time during pandemic-era filming, with his mother there with him.
About Amazon Australia says the first season was filmed in New Zealand. Muhafidin’s comments describe the difficulty of being away for work; the interviews do not establish a permanent move from Perth or a precise departure date.
What the fashion coverage establishes
The available fashion information is an editorial credit, not an interview about Muhafidin’s personal style. The A Book of Magazine feature credits Oththan Burnside as fashion stylist and Kathy Santiago for grooming, with Jesse Zapatero and Morgan Yamamoto as assistants. It does not identify Muhafidin’s favorite brands, personal wardrobe choices or product endorsements.

Asked about a dream project in the 2022 A Book of Magazine interview, Muhafidin answered: “My dream project is to be a Power Ranger.” It is a brief window into an ambition beyond Middle-earth, alongside the music-making he described at the time.
