Celebrity Net Worth lists Tyrese Gibson’s net worth at $3 million, in an estimate the site last updated on September 3, 2026. That figure is a publisher’s estimate. It is not an official disclosure from Gibson, and no current, complete statement of his assets and debts is public. This article explains where the number comes from, what the underlying reported figures actually measure, and why they cannot be added together into a current net worth.
Where the $3 million estimate comes from
Celebrity Net Worth states that its estimates draw on public sources and, where available, private tips and feedback. The site also acknowledges that its estimates are not necessarily accurate. A figure built this way reflects what is visible from outside: publicly reported earnings, property transactions, and court-related reporting. It cannot see liabilities, ownership stakes that are not publicized, taxes, day-to-day spending, or the current market value of assets. That gap is why two estimates for the same person can differ widely, and why a single estimate should be read as a rough range rather than a fact.

The reported figures and what each one measures
Most of the concrete numbers attached to Gibson’s finances come from a 2017 financial filing and from divorce proceedings with Samantha Lee. Each figure describes a different thing, in a different year. The table below keeps them separate.
| Figure | Amount | Year and source | What it measures |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly income | About $105,000 | 2017 financial filing, as reported by Celebrity Net Worth | Income reported for that period; not current income |
| Monthly expenses | About $107,000 | 2017 financial filing, as reported by Celebrity Net Worth | Spending reported for that period |
| Cash and savings | About $900,000 | 2017 financial filing, as reported by Celebrity Net Worth | Asset snapshot from 2017 only |
| Real estate | About $1.7 million | 2017 financial filing, as reported by Celebrity Net Worth | Property values as listed in that filing; not current appraisals |
| Owed to attorneys | About $133,000 | 2017 financial filing, as reported by Celebrity Net Worth | Liability reported in 2017 |
| Gross monthly income (affidavit) | About $275,000 | Affidavit cited in later divorce proceedings, as reported by Celebrity Net Worth; date not stated in the report | Income stated in a legal filing; not a measure of net worth |
| 2018 income | About $2 million | Evidence presented by Samantha Lee’s attorneys in divorce proceedings, as summarized by Celebrity Net Worth | Annual income for one historical year, presented in court |
| Woodland Hills home sale | About $2.4 million | Sale in March 2022 after a 2021 listing, as reported by Celebrity Net Worth and a July 2025 article | Price paid for one property on one date |
None of these rows is a current balance. Income figures describe a year, asset figures describe a filing date, and a sale price describes a transaction. Only the $3 million estimate is framed as a total, and it is the publisher’s own calculation rather than a sum of these rows.
#1 Best Overall
Why the income numbers do not form one consistent figure
Readers often try to reconcile the monthly figures with the annual ones. The 2017 filing lists roughly $105,000 in monthly income. A 2018 income figure of about $2 million is an annual number from a different year. The affidavit cited in later proceedings gives about $275,000 in gross monthly income, with no date given in the report. These measures come from different years and different legal contexts, so they should be presented side by side, not blended into a single current income.
Court-ordered obligations and reported payment disputes
The divorce record is the most detailed part of the public picture, and it is also the part most likely to be misread as a balance sheet. Celebrity Net Worth reports the following court-related figures, which should be attributed to its reporting rather than to primary court documents.
Rank #2
What the court ordered
- $10,690 per month in child support.
- $163,093 in retroactive child support, after credits.
- $399,152 toward Samantha Lee’s attorney fees and litigation expenses.
These are orders. They do not show how much has been paid, how much remains owed, or whether any amount has been adjusted since the orders were entered.
Contempt proceedings and allegations about unpaid fees
Celebrity Net Worth’s 2024 account describes a contempt proceeding over an alleged shortfall in child support. A July 2025 article reports that a filing by Lee’s legal team alleged Gibson had not paid court-ordered attorney fees. The filing’s language, as quoted in that article, reads:
“Mr. Gibson has the ability to pay the court-ordered attorney’s fees and accrued interest and chooses to ignore the court’s order.”
This is an advocate’s allegation made in a filing, not a neutral finding. Treat it as a claim by one side. The reporting above does not establish whether any contempt finding was made, what the final outcome was, or what balance is outstanding today. Check later court developments before relying on any of these amounts as current.
Rank #4
Property: purchase prices, sale prices and current value
Two homes appear in the reporting, and they are easy to confuse with wealth.
- Buckhead-area home, Atlanta. Celebrity Net Worth reports that Gibson and Samantha Lee bought this home for about $4 million in December 2017. The July 2025 article repeats claims about its current value. Those claims are not an appraisal or independent valuation, so they should not be presented as confirmed equity.
- Woodland Hills home, California. Gibson listed this home in 2021 and sold it in March 2022 for about $2.4 million, according to the same reporting.
A purchase price or sale price records one transaction. It does not reveal mortgage debt, ownership shares, improvements, or the property’s value today.

Career income and books
Film, music and production work
Celebrity Net Worth describes Gibson as a singer, songwriter, actor, author, model and producer. It identifies his roles in the Fast & Furious and Transformers franchises, and says he released the album Beautiful Pain in 2024 with an expanded version in 2025. These credits explain why his income has come from several sources. However, the reporting does not document his current earnings per film, royalties, residuals, or total career income. The 2025 article’s per-film pay estimate is unsourced and should not be cited as a verified figure.
Books
Celebrity Net Worth identifies two books: How to Get Out of Your Own Way and Manology: Secrets of Your Man’s Mind Revealed, which he co-wrote. Book sales are a real income source, but they do not establish his net worth, and current retail availability for either title was not verified for this article.
How to compare celebrity net worth estimates
When you see a number for any celebrity, check four things before comparing it with another:
- Publisher and date. Who produced the figure, and when it was last updated.
- Estimate or disclosure. Whether it is a publisher’s calculation or a figure taken from a filing the person made.
- Time period. The years covered by the underlying income, asset and debt data.
- Known and unknown liabilities. Whether debts, ownership stakes and taxes are known. For Gibson, most of them are not.
Keep net worth, income, assets, property value and amount owed as separate measures. Historical income and a home’s sale price should not be set against a net worth estimate as if they were comparable.
What is not established
- No official, current net-worth disclosure from Gibson.
- No complete, current statement of his assets and liabilities.
- No current appraisal of his Atlanta or California properties.
- No independent statement from Gibson about his current net worth.
- No outstanding court-ordered balance confirmed as of today.
The court and financial details in this article come from Celebrity Net Worth’s summaries and a July 2025 article, not from the original court filings or affidavit. Readers who need exact figures should consult the court record in the relevant case.
