How this ranking works
The list covers six feature films in which Shakur acted, ranked by the first percentage shown beside each title on his Rotten Tomatoes profile as retrieved October 7, 2026. The source’s extracted text does not label the score columns, so the percentages below are not described as audience or critic scores.

This is a defined selection, not a complete filmography of every appearance, documentary, or posthumous project. The official 2Pac biography names five of these films; Rotten Tomatoes supplies the sixth, Bullet. AFI independently records cast credits for five films in the list, while its broader catalog also includes other kinds of credits and a documentary.
The six films, ranked
-
Gridlock’d (1997) — 88%
Shakur plays Spoon, one of two bandmates who try to enter detox after a friend overdoses. Their attempt is complicated by drug dealers, police, and social-service bureaucracy. Universal describes the film as a dark comedy and drama and lists a 92-minute runtime. Its official page currently lists digital and DVD formats. Rotten Tomatoes’ first displayed percentage makes it the highest-ranked title in this snapshot.

Juice (1992) — 82%
Shakur plays Bishop. AFI records his cast credit and the film’s year, and the official 2Pac biography includes Juice among his starring films. It places second in this Rotten Tomatoes ordering.
-
Bullet (1996) — 70%
Rotten Tomatoes lists Shakur as Tank in its filmography. Bullet is included because it appears on that profile; it is not among the five films named in the official biography or the AFI cast listings reviewed for this list.
Rank #2
-
Gang Related (1997) — 52%
Shakur plays Rodriguez. AFI records the cast credit, and the official 2Pac biography includes the film among his acting work. Its first displayed Rotten Tomatoes percentage places it fourth.
-
Above the Rim (1994) — 50%
Shakur plays Birdie. AFI records the role, and the official 2Pac biography names the film. It sits just below Gang Related in this score-based ranking.

Poetic Justice (1993) — 35%
Shakur plays Lucky opposite Janet Jackson as Justice. Sony describes the film as a drama and romance built around a road trip from South Central Los Angeles to Oakland: the pair begin at odds but are drawn together. Sony’s page lists Blu-ray and DVD editions. The Rotten Tomatoes profile identifies it as the lowest-rated title in this set.
What the ranking says—and what it does not
The ordering is a quick comparison of one source’s displayed percentages, not a box-office ranking. No reliable, comparable primary-source gross for all six films is established here, and a score snapshot cannot settle which performance or film is best. The list does show a notable range in the roles and premises: from Bishop in Juice and Birdie in Above the Rim to Spoon’s attempt to get into detox in Gridlock’d and Lucky’s road trip in Poetic Justice.
For the two official studio descriptions, see Sony Pictures’ Poetic Justice page and Universal Pictures At Home’s Gridlock’d page. Filmography details are available through the AFI Catalog and the official 2Pac biography; the ranking snapshot is on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tupac Shakur profile.
