‘Tulsa King’ Season 3 Review: Stallone’s Mob Series Is a Tense, Energetic Ride

Tulsa King Season 3 is a lively, Stallone-centered crime ride with a strong new rivalry—but uneven subplots keep it from being flawless.

Tulsa King Season 3 makes a persuasive case for calling this the series’ best outing yet: it gives Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi a bigger Tulsa operation and a formidable new rival, then leans into the show’s blend of mob drama, comic bravado and sudden violence. It is an entertaining, fast-moving season, though uneven subplots and lightly developed supporting characters keep “doesn’t waste a single minute” from being quite the whole story.

Is Tulsa King Season 3 worth watching?

Yes, especially if the appeal of the series is Stallone’s commanding presence as a mob boss who has to make a new life in unfamiliar territory. Season 3 puts Dwight’s expanding Tulsa operation in conflict with the Dunmires, a powerful old-money family, giving the season a clear source of pressure without losing the heightened, often funny tone that distinguishes the show.

The “best outing yet” claim is a defensible critical judgment, not a settled consensus. M.N. Miller of FandomWire called it “the best season yet,” and Jeff Ewing of Collider described it as the best the series had been so far. Other critics were less convinced by the storytelling: Alex Maidy of JoBlo noted weak subplots and underdeveloped supporting players, while Joel Keller of Decider pointed to storylines introduced and then dropped. Taken together, the response suggests a season whose pleasures are more consistent than its plotting.

What is Season 3 about?

Dwight “The General” Manfredi is a New York Mafia capo who, after 25 years in prison, is sent to Tulsa and starts building a crew and criminal empire. In Season 3, that growing operation faces the Dunmires, whom Paramount describes as a powerful old-money family. The conflict raises the stakes for Dwight while keeping the series’ central contrast in view: an outsider mob boss trying to establish himself in a place far from the world that made him.

Sylvester Stallone remains the season’s anchor. His performance gives Dwight an imposing screen presence, but the character’s comic edge keeps the show from becoming a straight-faced crime saga. Critics have praised that mix of tension and escapism; the caveat is that the ensemble and its side stories do not always receive the same attention as Dwight.

What critics say—and where the season stumbles

Rotten Tomatoes displayed an 83% Tomatometer from six critic reviews and a 60% Popcornmeter from more than 250 audience ratings when accessed on October 7, 2026. These are changing aggregates, and six critic reviews are too few to establish a broad critical consensus. They are best read alongside the individual responses, which praise Stallone and the show’s energy while identifying consistency as a weakness.

  • What works: Stallone’s screen presence, the tense confrontations and the show’s deliberately outsized, sometimes violently funny escapism.
  • What is less reliable: Some subplots feel weak, supporting characters can be underdeveloped, and storylines may be introduced without receiving satisfying follow-through.

That unevenness matters if you watch primarily for carefully interlocking plotlines. It matters less if you come for Dwight’s forceful presence and the series’ entertaining collision of crime drama and comedy. Season 3 can be both a propulsive watch and a show that leaves parts of its story underused.

Season 3 release date and episode count

Season 3 premiered on September 21, 2025. Rotten Tomatoes lists 10 episodes, with the season ending November 23, 2025. That makes it a completed season rather than an ongoing weekly release.

Where the series goes next

Paramount’s series listing marked Tulsa King renewed for Season 4 and scheduled its release for October 16, 2026. As of October 7, 2026, that date was still upcoming; it should not be treated as a season already released. Paramount’s listing covers the series as a whole, including Seasons 1–3 and 29 episodes, rather than serving as a complete Season 3 cast roster.
