TSN+ is not a new service launching in 2026. It launched in Canada in 2023; the new development is Bell Media’s expanded TSN/RDS streaming experience, with 16 new connected-TV apps and features built around FIFA World Cup 2026 and future marquee sports events.
TSN+ did not launch in 2026. The new story is the larger TSN streaming upgrade.
TSN+ first launched in Canada in 2023 as a standalone digital sports subscription. The original offering cost $8 per month or $80 per year when announced, and was also included with a direct TSN subscription purchased through TSN.ca or the TSN app. Those prices should be treated as historical, not as confirmed August 2026 pricing. Bell Media’s original TSN+ announcement remains the clearest source for the launch details.
The genuinely new development in 2026 is Bell Media’s expansion of the TSN and RDS digital experience. The company announced 16 new connected-TV apps and a set of features spanning television, web, and mobile, timed for the FIFA World Cup 2026 but intended to remain part of the service for future major events. TSN+ is therefore best understood as an additional streaming layer within a broader TSN product—not a brand-new service launched this year.
What TSN+ is
TSN+ is a Canadian subscription option for digital sports coverage that goes beyond the main TSN television feeds. Depending on the sport and season, that can mean alternate feeds, overflow events, practice and qualifying sessions, streaming-only games, companion coverage, and niche competitions that may not receive the same treatment on linear television.

The 2023 launch announcement listed examples including NFL REDZONE, one streaming-only NFL game per week, data-enhanced NFL feeds, PGA TOUR LIVE, expanded NCAA football and basketball, tennis qualifying and additional-court feeds, AEW programming, LaLiga, NBA streaming-only games, Formula 1 companion feeds, NASCAR practice and qualifying, the CHL, NLL, NWSL, Top Rank Boxing, and more than 200 sports documentaries. These examples explain the service’s purpose, but they should not be read as a guaranteed or complete 2026 schedule. Rights, packages, blackouts, and availability can change by season.
How Canadians can get access
| Access route | What it means | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Standalone TSN+ | Purchase the digital service without taking a conventional television package. | Current monthly or annual price, included competitions, auto-renewal, and blackout restrictions. |
| Direct TSN subscription | TSN+ digital feeds are included with a TSN subscription purchased through TSN.ca or the TSN app, according to current official product information. | Whether the specific subscription you are considering includes the feeds you want and whether the purchase is made through an eligible TSN channel. |
The Canadian App Store listing confirms that TSN+ feeds can be purchased separately and are included with a qualifying TSN subscription. It also says that live streaming and on-demand viewing require an active TSN subscription, that blackouts may apply, and that video access is limited to Canada. Check the current Canadian TSN app listing before subscribing.
2026 upgrades: what is actually new
A dedicated FIFA World Cup 2026 hub
Bell Media’s 2026 product announcement describes a dedicated World Cup destination with live matches, highlights, news, scores, and statistics. That is a navigation and discovery upgrade around a major event, rather than evidence that TSN+ has replaced the regular TSN service.
Bell Media says TSN and RDS are the exclusive Canadian home for all 104 World Cup 2026 matches. Select matches are also available on CTV, Noovo, and through the live CTV channel on Crave. TSN+ subscribers were promised additional multi-language match feeds through TSN.ca and the TSN app, including local-language commentary for competing teams alongside English TSN coverage and French RDS coverage. See Bell Media’s World Cup coverage announcement for the stated distribution details.

A new upcoming-event feature is intended to help viewers find what is scheduled next instead of searching through separate league or channel pages. This matters most for fans following several sports, where the value of a streaming subscription can be lost if alternate feeds are difficult to locate.

DVR-style controls
Bell says the upgraded experience adds DVR functionality for pausing, rewinding, and catching up during live events. The announcement describes the feature, but does not establish that every event has identical recording rights or that every platform will expose every control in the same way. Treat it as a product capability whose availability may depend on the event, app, and device.
Matches in 30
Matches in 30 provides condensed match viewing for viewers who want the main action without watching an entire game. It is especially relevant to football and other match-based sports, but it should not be confused with a full replay or a promise that every event will receive a condensed version.
Vertical mobile highlights
Mobile viewers will see more vertical-format highlights designed for phone viewing. This is a convenience feature for catching up quickly; it does not replace the full live feed or on-demand event when the complete broadcast matters.

A wider connected-TV footprint
Bell Media says the expansion includes 16 new apps across web and mobile, with availability extending across Samsung, LG, Roku, Amazon, Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Hisense platforms. The original TSN+ materials also listed Android TV, Apple TV, Xbox One, Roku TV, LG Smart TV, Samsung Smart TV, Amazon Fire TV, computers, tablets, and mobile devices.
Device support can vary by model, operating-system version, and app availability. Before buying hardware, search the device’s Canadian app store for the TSN app and confirm that your television or streaming box is supported.

Which sports fans benefit most?
TSN+ makes the strongest case for viewers who want more than the headline broadcast. It is less compelling for someone who only watches a small number of games already available through their existing television package.
- NFL viewers: Bell said NFL REDZONE and Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli were available for live streaming on TSN+ during the 2025 season. That supports the service as an additional NFL destination, not as a complete package containing every Canadian NFL game. Bell Media’s 2025 NFL announcement describes that season’s distribution.
- NASCAR fans: Bell’s 2025 rights announcement said races, practice, and qualifying across NASCAR’s three national series would be distributed among CTV, TSN, USA Network, and TSN+. TSN+ can therefore be useful for sessions that are not the primary televised race, but the exact event split should be checked on the current schedule. Read the NASCAR rights announcement.
- Golf and tennis fans: The launch-era package included PGA TOUR LIVE and extra tennis courts and qualifying coverage—precisely the type of overflow content that is difficult to fit into a single linear channel.
- Fans of Canadian leagues: Bell said all 127 Canadian Elite Basketball League games streamed live on TSN+ during the 2025 season. Rugby Canada also announced a long-term arrangement making TSN and TSN+ the Canadian broadcast home for expanded rugby coverage through 2029. See Bell’s CEBL announcement and Rugby Canada’s partnership announcement.
- Viewers following international or niche sports: The service has historically included competitions and companion feeds such as NCAA sports, LaLiga, AEW, the CHL, NLL, NWSL, boxing, and motorsports sessions. Availability is seasonal and rights-based, so use the current schedule rather than assuming the entire launch lineup remains unchanged.
- World Cup viewers who want language options: The promised multi-language feeds may be a meaningful reason to use TSN+ during FIFA World Cup 2026, particularly for viewers following a specific national team.
How to watch TSN+ on a television
- Confirm that your television or streaming device supports the TSN app in Canada.
- Install the TSN app from the device’s official app store.
- Sign in with the TSN account associated with your standalone TSN+ or qualifying TSN subscription.
- Open the TSN+ or digital-feeds area and check that the event you want is included.
- Review the event listing for blackout notices, language options, start times, and replay availability.
Optional TV hardware: If your television does not support the app, an Amazon Fire TV Stick HD is one compatible-device route identified in TSN’s device materials. It is only a streaming device: it does not include a TSN+ subscription, remove blackouts, or guarantee a particular video resolution. You still need a separate eligible TSN or TSN+ account.
For a compatible 4K television, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max is a higher-end hardware option. Its 4K capability belongs to the device; it does not prove that TSN+ delivers every event in 4K.
Amazon availability, model compatibility, and pricing can change. Use the retailer’s Canadian product page and the TSN app listing to verify both the hardware and software path before purchasing.
Pricing: do not rely on the old $8/$80 figures
The often-repeated TSN+ price of $8 monthly or $80 annually was announced on August 9, 2023. The retrieved official 2026 material confirms that standalone purchasing remains available, but it does not provide a reliable current price table for August 2026. Bell may also vary packaging, taxes, renewal terms, and entitlements by purchase channel.
Before paying, check:
- the total price shown at the current TSN checkout;
- whether the price is promotional or recurring;
- the monthly and annual auto-renewal terms;
- which TSN+ feeds and sports are included;
- whether the subscription can be cancelled through the same store or website where it was purchased; and
- the blackout and Canada-only restrictions for the event you actually intend to watch.
Blackouts, geography, and package limits
TSN+ is a Canadian service. The current Canadian App Store listing says video is accessible only within Canada, and blackouts may apply to certain content. A subscription does not automatically provide every TSN property, every game in a league, or every event shown in an announcement’s broad sports list.
The safest way to evaluate the service is to begin with a specific event: find it in the current TSN schedule, read its entitlement and blackout information, and then compare the displayed price with the cost of any existing TSN access. This avoids subscribing based on an old launch lineup or a headline that suggests broader coverage than the rights actually allow.

- Cinematic streaming: This TV streaming device brings the movie theater to your living room with spectacular 4K, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision picture alongside immersive Dolby Atmos audio.
- The ultimate Roku remote: The rechargeable Roku Voice Remote Pro offers backlit buttons, hands-free voice controls, and a lost remote finder.

Should you subscribe?
TSN+ is most likely worthwhile if you regularly watch alternate feeds, NFL REDZONE, motorsports practice and qualifying, golf or tennis overflow, Canadian leagues, rugby, niche competitions, or multi-language World Cup coverage. The 2026 interface upgrades make the content easier to discover and more convenient to consume across television, web, and mobile.
It may not be worthwhile if you only watch the main televised games you already receive. Nor should you buy a streaming stick solely because it is compatible: the device provides access to the app, while the subscription provides the sports rights.
In short, TSN+ is an established 2023 service with a broader 2026 digital presentation. Check the live schedule, current checkout price, account entitlement, platform support, and blackout notice for your target event before subscribing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Did TSN+ just launch in 2026?
TSN+ launched in 2023, not 2026. The 2026 announcement covers Bell Media’s expansion of TSN and RDS across connected TV, web, and mobile, including 16 new apps and features such as a World Cup hub, DVR controls, Matches in 30, and vertical highlights.
Can I get TSN+ without a regular TV package?
No. TSN+ can be purchased as a standalone digital subscription, and TSN’s official materials say TSN+ digital feeds are included with a qualifying TSN subscription purchased through TSN.ca or the TSN app. Confirm the exact entitlement at checkout.

The Bottom Line
Bottom line: TSN+ launched in 2023; the 2026 development is Bell Media’s expanded TSN/RDS experience, including new connected-TV apps, a FIFA World Cup hub, event discovery, DVR-style controls, condensed matches, and mobile highlights. It is most valuable for additional and niche sports coverage—not as a guarantee of every game or every TSN property. Verify current pricing, availability, device support, and blackouts in Canada before paying.
