A fundraiser billed as the J6 Awards Gala was announced for September 5, 2024, at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey. It was intended to raise money for January 6 defendants, but contemporaneous reports said it was postponed indefinitely shortly before the planned date. The sources available do not establish whether it was later rescheduled or held.
What was the J6 Awards Gala?
The planned event was presented as a fundraiser for people facing charges connected to January 6, 2021, and as an occasion to honor people associated with the “Justice for All” recording. Contemporary coverage reported that it was set for Trump National Golf Club Bedminster on September 5, 2024. These were the event’s stated aims; they do not establish that money was raised or distributed.
The historical context is the attack on the U.S. Capitol. The House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack published its final report on December 22, 2022. The committee said more than 140 law enforcement officers were attacked and seriously injured. The committee’s final report is the source for that figure and context.
Was the Bedminster fundraiser held?
Contemporaneous reports on September 3–4, 2024, said the gala had been postponed indefinitely, before its advertised September 5 date. Coverage said the event website listed it as postponed and the location as “undetermined”; it did not announce a replacement date or venue. The sources available do not establish whether the gala later took place.

Why was the gala postponed?
Organizer L.J. Fino said the postponement was due to “scheduling conflicts of invited guest speakers,” according to Fox Business and a subsequent account in The Denver Gazette/Washington Examiner. That is the organizer’s explanation, not independent confirmation that speaker conflicts were the sole cause. Trump was listed as an invited guest but was not expected to attend, according to contemporaneous reporting.
What were the announced ticket prices?
Contemporary coverage reported general admission at $1,500 per person and a top “platinum” table for 12 at $50,000. The Boston Globe also reported the $50,000 table price. Those were announced prices for the planned event, not evidence that tickets sold or that any proceeds were collected.
