Reporting has described her as interested in music and visual art, and a 2019 post about her acceptance to the University of Southern California became part of the public conversation around the college admissions scandal. Here is what published accounts establish—and what they do not.
Who is Truly Young?
Truly Young is one of Dr. Dre and Nicole Young’s children. CBS News reported that she was 18 in March 2019; a later biographical profile gives her birth year as 2001. Secondary sources disagree on her exact birthday, so the year is the more reliable detail to repeat. CBS News; Legit.ng.

What happened with her USC acceptance?
In March 2019, Dr. Dre posted a photograph with Young and her USC acceptance letter. The Los Angeles Times reproduced his caption: “My daughter got accepted into USC all on her own. No jail time!!!!” The wording alluded to the college admissions scandal then in the news. After the post drew criticism, it was deleted, according to CBS News and the Los Angeles Times.

- It's official, The Doctor is back with a masterful body of work, dedicated to the people of the city where he came from: Compton
The episode attracted extra attention because Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine had donated $70 million to USC in 2013 to help establish the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy. That figure describes the donation—not a payment for Young’s admission. CBS News reported that Dr. Dre did not directly pay to get her admitted. The donation and the public discussion around it do not establish that it affected her application or USC’s decision.
The Los Angeles Times also reproduced wording attributed to Young in a May 2018 post: “Dad pushing me to go to USC.” It records what the post said, but does not provide a full account of her preferences or admissions process.

What is reported about her education?
CBS News covered Young’s USC acceptance in 2019. Capital XTRA described her as a USC student in 2020, which is a report of her status at that time, not evidence of her present activities. A later Legit.ng profile says she graduated from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts in 2021. That graduation detail is reported by a secondary source.
