Troll 2 is the 2025 Norwegian Netflix sequel to Troll (2022), not the unrelated 1990 horror film with the same title. Nora, Andreas and Captain Kris return to face a newly awakened troll threatening Norway. Netflix released the sequel globally on December 1, 2025.
What is Troll 2 about?
A dangerous new troll awakens and devastates Norway. Nora, Andreas and Captain Kris return, enlist new allies and search the country’s ancient history for a way to stop the creature. The story follows the events of the first film, with Norway’s armed forces confronting a fresh threat.
Netflix’s Tudum feature describes UV light-powered machinery as part of the response. That is a fictional story detail, not practical guidance.
When did Troll 2 come out?
Netflix released Troll 2 globally on December 1, 2025. The Norwegian Film Commission also lists that date. Netflix’s announcement about the earlier Troll said it had reached 103 million views; that figure refers to the 2022 film, not the sequel.
