He framed WWE’s roster as comparable or superior to the early-2000s lineup as his own view—not as an objective ranking.
When and where Triple H made the assessment
The remarks were reported in connection with the Wrestlepalooza Countdown on September 20, 2025. WWE’s official results page confirms Wrestlepalooza took place that day. The comments are a 2025 assessment, not a new interview from 2026.
The quotations below are attributed to Levesque by a Yardbarker report syndicated from The Sportster. WWE’s event pages establish event details, but do not independently provide the full interview transcript; an official full-length recording or transcript is not established here.
The five names used to illustrate current roster depth
Levesque’s first group illustrated depth around established stars and emerging main-roster talent:

- Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed: Levesque described them as talents “breaking through underneath” established stars.
- Gunther: He referred to a “new crop of talent” while discussing the roster’s quality.
- Rhea Ripley and Stephanie Vaquer: He included both among the stars he cited in making his case for the current roster.
Wrestlepalooza provided a contemporaneous snapshot: Breakker and Reed defeated The Usos, while Vaquer defeated IYO SKY for the Women’s World Title, according to WWE’s official results. Those outcomes add event context; they do not establish the accuracy of a broader roster comparison or prove anyone’s future success.
The four NXT wrestlers he identified as the future
Levesque separately named four NXT talents as forward-looking prospects:
- Trick Williams
- Oba Femi
- Ethan Page
- Sol Ruca
This distinction matters: the five names above represented current depth and newer stars, while these four were the NXT prospects he singled out for the future. The report does not offer a measured forecast or establish that all four would reach a particular level.

What Levesque said about the roster
On the established stars in the discussion, the report quotes Levesque saying:

“Absolutely, I absolutely believe that and the beautiful thing about the roster we have right now, all the names you said are stars that have been doing this for a long time and are at the top of their game.”
He then made the distinction between the top of the roster and younger talent:
Rank #3
- Fan Favorites! WWE action figures bring Superstars to life in 6-inch scale.
- TrueFX Technology! Each figure is detailed with a life-like face for added collectability.
- Dynamic Posing! Fans can recreate signature moves with 14 points of articulation.
- Play and Display! Reenact favorite WWE Main Event matches or create new rivalries and moves.
- Super Collectible! WWE fans can find their favorite Superstar figures (each sold separately, subject to availability).
“On the flipside of that, when you get to those talents, there is a Trick Williams, there is an Oba Femi, there is an Ethan Page, there is a Sol Ruca. That is the future. So not even is it deep at the top, it’s deep in the middle and the people coming back but it’s deep underneath that.”
Both quotations are attributed to Levesque through the syndicated report; they should be read as his argument about roster depth, not as independently verified findings.

The question of whether WWE’s roster is “as good or superior to that of the early 2000s” is a comparison of eras, not a statistic settled by the nine names. The cited report supplies Levesque’s belief and examples, but no common scoring method, roster-wide analysis, or objective measure of strength. The useful takeaway is what he chose to emphasize: established stars at the top, talent in the middle, and NXT prospects underneath.
Wrestlepalooza’s U.S. distribution announcement
Separately from the roster discussion, WWE announced on August 20, 2025 that ESPN platforms would become the U.S. home for its premium live events starting with Wrestlepalooza on September 20. That is a historical announcement, not current viewing guidance; check current service availability and terms before trying to watch an event. WWE’s announcement gives the original details.
