Triple H addressed a confusing pinfall sequence in Damian Priest’s World Heavyweight Championship match against Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank 2024, according to contemporaneous post-show reports. Coverage described Priest as not visibly kicking out before the referee stopped the count at two; Levesque reportedly called the moment a mistake and said it was unfortunate if it overshadowed Priest’s performance.
What happened in Priest vs. Rollins
During the World Heavyweight Championship match at Money in the Bank on July 6, 2024, Rollins attempted a pin after a Falcon Arrow. WrestleTalk’s July 7 report described Priest as not visibly kicking out while the referee halted the count at two. The sequence was widely described in wrestling coverage as a botched pin or pinfall botch. “Botch” is a descriptive label used by reporters and fans, not a formal WWE ruling about what happened.
What Triple H reportedly said
WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque discussed the incident at the post-show press conference, according to 411Mania’s contemporaneous account. The report says he characterized it as a mistake and expressed regret that it might become the focus instead of Priest’s performance. WWE’s official biography identifies Levesque as the company’s Chief Content Officer.
The full exchange has not been verified here against an original press-conference transcript or video, so the reported response is paraphrased rather than presented as a direct quotation.
