The disappointing update for Transplant fans is that season 4 is the series’ final season. It premiered in Canada in October 2023, then began its U.S. NBC run in May 2025; those dates refer to different markets, not a new or upcoming release.
Is Transplant season 4 the last season?
Yes. Bell Media announced on September 13, 2023, that the 10-episode fourth season would conclude the series. The announcement came before the Canadian premiere, so the ending was presented as the completion of the show rather than a later cancellation announcement. Bell Media’s announcement quoted creator, executive producer, and showrunner Joseph Kay saying he had intended a four-season story following Bash as he completed residency again, built roots in Canada, and moved on from his past.

The final season follows Bashir “Bash” Hamed near the end of his residency at York Memorial and as he works toward requalifying as a doctor. His sister Amira is also part of the story of building a life in Canada. The premise reflects the series’ central arc: Bash, a Syrian refugee and trauma doctor, rebuilding his life and career in Toronto.
When did season 4 come out?
The release dates depend on the country and broadcaster. Canada saw the season first; the U.S. NBC premiere followed later.

|---|---|---|
| Canada | October 6, 2023 | CTV season premiere; the season was also announced for CTV.ca and the CTV app. TVLine reported the Canadian run ended January 19, 2024. Bell Media; TVLine |
| United States | May 22, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET/PT | NBC broadcast premiere. It launched with two episodes, followed by weekly Thursday episodes. NBC / Peacock; TVLine |
The May 22, 2025 date is in the past, not an upcoming premiere. The sources establish the gap between the Canadian and U.S. runs, but do not explain why the U.S. broadcast began later; it should not be described as a confirmed production delay.
Where can you watch season 4?
Peacock’s April 21, 2025 article said seasons 1–3, totaling 39 one-hour episodes, were then streaming on Peacock, and that season 4 episodes would be available there the day after their NBC broadcasts. That is historical U.S. availability information, not confirmation that the series remains in Peacock’s catalog in October 2026 or that it is available in other countries. The available announcement describes season 4 as the conclusion of an intended four-season story. It does not attribute the ending to ratings or another specific cause, so claims that the show ended because of audience numbers are not established by the cited sources. Sphere Media lists the series as a four-season production with a 2020–2024 run. Sphere Media’s series page
