Disney’s official Toy Story 5 page shows Woody and Buzz Lightyear together, while the film’s story description explains why they reunite: Woody returns to Bonnie’s room and teams up with Buzz to find Jessie and Bullseye. Their mission unfolds as the toys face a new challenge to their place in Bonnie’s playtime: Lilypad, a tablet device.
What does the Toy Story 5 image show?
Disney’s official movie page captions an image “Woody and Buzz Lightyear in Disney and Pixar’s TOY STORY 5.” The page also describes Buzz and Woody looking at an image of themselves on a tablet screen. It confirms that both characters appear in the film, but the caption alone does not establish the scene’s full context. Disney’s official Toy Story 5 page provides the image and film information.
Why are Woody and Buzz together again?
At the end of Toy Story 4, Woody left the group to help lost toys. Disney UK’s February 19, 2026 trailer announcement says the trailer teases his anticipated reunion with Buzz after that decision. Pixar’s character descriptions add the story details: Woody has been away with Bo Peep and a toy-rescue squad when a surprise call brings him back to Bonnie’s room. There, he partners with Buzz to find Jessie and Bullseye. Disney UK’s trailer announcement and Pixar’s official film page describe the reunion and mission.
What challenge do the toys face?
The reunion takes place amid a conflict Pixar frames as “Toy meets Tech.” Lilypad is a new tablet device whose ideas about what is best for Bonnie challenge the toys’ jobs and place in her playtime. D23 describes Lilypad as a frog-shaped smart tablet and Bonnie’s new favorite, with her own way of helping Bonnie connect with friends. The official descriptions establish the device as a challenge for the toys; they do not suggest that the story is simply about technology replacing them.

Who is making and starring in Toy Story 5?
Tom Hanks returns as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz, Joan Cusack as Jessie, and Greta Lee voices Lilypad. Disney+ says Toy Story 5 has streamed on the service since September 23, 2026. Availability can vary by territory, so check Disney+ in your region for current access. Disney’s press kit lists June 19, 2026 as the US theatrical date; that does not establish the film’s theatrical status in every market. Disney+’s film announcement gives the streaming date.
