The clearest confirmed festive outing in Perth for 2026 is Santa’s Symphony in the Park at Burswood Park on Saturday 12 December 2026, a free, all-ages evening of orchestral music with Santa. For something lower-effort and repeatable, the Visit Perth listing for the Twilight Food Market at Forrest Place runs on Friday evenings through the summer. The City of Perth’s Christmas Lights Trail is being prepared for 2026, but its public dates and route had not been published when these listings were checked in early October 2026.
Santa’s Symphony in the Park: the confirmed December anchor
The official Burswood Park listing describes an outdoor evening with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO), the WASO Chorus, special guest soloists and Santa. Food trucks and family entertainment start at 4pm, and live performances begin at 5:45pm. The listing’s own visitor guidance reads: “Pack a picnic, enjoy food trucks and family entertainment from 4pm, with live performances from 5.45pm.” A picnic blanket is a practical, optional extra for sitting on the grass; nothing on the listing requires one.
The listing says more details are to come, so treat the timings as the current schedule rather than a final programme. It does not publish parking, transport or ticketing information in the material checked, so confirm those before you leave home. Arriving for the 4pm food and entertainment gives you time to eat before the orchestra starts.
Twilight Food Market: the repeatable Friday option
If you want a festive evening without committing to a single date, the Twilight Food Market at Forrest Place is the better fit. Visit Perth lists the season as running from 2 October to 30 April, with food service from 4:30pm each Friday. The listing marks it free and all ages. It works well as an after-work stop or a relaxed family outing, and because it recurs, you can drop in on any Friday in the season rather than planning around one night.

Christmas Lights Trail 2026: being prepared, not yet publishable
The City of Perth’s event page lists the Christmas Lights Trail 2026 among its event partnership opportunities and links to a prospectus. That confirms the trail is being planned for this year. It does not, in the material checked, give public visiting dates, operating hours or a route.

Do not plan around last year’s trail. Earlier dates and routes are not a reliable guide to 2026. Watch the City of Perth and Visit Perth event listings for the public programme. The lights are a plausible addition to a December itinerary, but treat them as unconfirmed until the City publishes details.
