There is no official or survey-based ranking of the saga’s best cars. This editorial list weighs character association, recognition, memorable story use and variety. Dom’s black Dodge Charger, Brian’s orange Toyota Supra and blue Nissan Skyline, and Han’s Mazda RX-7 are the clearest franchise anchors; the remaining picks broaden the list to other cars named in Universal and licensed franchise materials.

Brian O’Conner’s orange Supra from the original film is one of the series’ most memorable cars. Universal’s 2026 announcement identifies the 1994 model and its 2JZ-GTE twin-turbo inline-six, and calls the Supra one of the franchise’s most memorable vehicles. Universal’s announcement

Why the cars fit their characters
The cars in the saga are not simply a catalogue of fast models; returning characters acquire recognizable automotive identities. Picture-car coordinator Dennis McCarthy described the inspiration as “primarily character driven” and said fans have learned what type of car each returning character would want to drive. He made those comments in a 2018 Discover Universal interview.
That character connection explains why Dom’s Charger, Brian’s Supra and Skyline, and Han’s RX-7 loom so large in discussions of the franchise. The wider selection shows the films’ range: imports and tuner cars share the screen with American muscle, a prewar coupe and a classic European performance car.
What the ranking does—and does not—claim
This is an editorial ranking, not an official Universal order, a measured fan poll or a sales ranking. Universal’s attraction materials identify ride-vehicle inspirations and franchise associations; the licensed collection adds model names, but catalogue entries alone do not verify every car’s driver or film. The list therefore gives the strongest character and film details where the sources establish them and avoids assigning unsupported ones to the other entries.
