How much was Tony Curtis worth?
In a 2011 report, Inside Edition attributed an estimated $60 million estate to Curtis’s widow, Jill Curtis. Celebrity Net Worth also lists $60 million as his net worth at death in 2010, but that is a secondary estimate, not a financial accounting.

A different number—$85 million—appeared in a 2011 WELT interview as part of the interviewer’s question to Curtis’s daughter Allegra. It was not presented there as a verified valuation. The available reports do not explain or reconcile the difference, so $60 million is best described as the commonly reported estimate, not a proven total.
Who inherited his estate?
Inside Edition reported that Curtis’s will left his estate to Jill Curtis and included a statement that he had intentionally chosen not to provide for his children. The outlet reproduced the language and said the will had been written about five months before his death. This is a description of the will in news reporting; it is not an independently reviewed probate record.

According to Inside Edition, one daughter contested the will and the challenge was denied. The underlying court docket is not established by the reporting cited here, so that procedural account should be treated as the outlet’s report.
What was said about the grandchildren?
In a 2011 release quoting Jill Curtis, Paramount Press Express reported her statement that Curtis had provided nearly half a million dollars for his seven grandchildren. She described the provision as a bequest to them. The amount is her account; it is not confirmed by a reviewed trust instrument or accounting.

The same release reported allegations in court papers that the disinheritance resulted from “duress, menace, fraud or undue influence by Jill Curtis and/or others.” Those were allegations, not established findings in the material available here. Allegra Curtis was also quoted as saying, “It’s not about money. It’s about memories.”

The auction figure is sometimes easy to confuse with the size of an estate, but it describes proceeds from a particular sale. The Forbes report said proceeds benefited Jill Curtis, with a portion supporting the couple’s charity. It does not establish the estate’s total value.

Why Curtis’s career draws interest in his wealth
Curtis built a long film career, appearing in Some Like It Hot, The Defiant Ones, Operation Petticoat, Spartacus and The Boston Strangler. He later worked in television and became a fine-art painter, according to Biography.com. He also published two autobiographies, including Tony Curtis: The Autobiography in 1994.
Those accomplishments help explain public interest in his finances, but they do not establish his lifetime earnings, residual income, liabilities or the value of any art or other assets. No estate inventory, tax filing, trust accounting or independent financial statement is cited in the reports above, so an exact net-worth figure cannot be confirmed from them.
