Tom Holland’s one-word correction was “Fiancée.” When a moderator called Zendaya his girlfriend during a panel, Holland corrected him, acknowledging their engagement. The panel took place in April 2025; a clip circulated online in September.
What did Tom Holland say when Zendaya was called his girlfriend?
Holland replied, “Fiancée,” according to Elle’s September 30, 2025 report. The exchange happened during an April 2025 panel moderated by Danny Stepper. The clip circulated on September 29, months after the event.
That timing matters: the comment was not made at the January 2025 Golden Globes. It was a brief, direct acknowledgment at a later public event, rather than a longer statement about the couple’s relationship.
How the engagement became public
Attention first turned to the couple’s engagement after Zendaya wore a prominent ring on her left hand at the Golden Globes in January 2025. The ring sighting prompted coverage, but it was not, by itself, a statement from either Zendaya or Holland. The Associated Press reported at the time that representatives had not returned requests for comment. The AP’s January 2025 account and the Los Angeles Times timeline place the ring sighting before Holland’s later panel correction.

What has Holland said about their marriage?
In a later development, the Associated Press reported on June 16, 2026, that Holland appeared to confirm that he and Zendaya had married. In an Esquire U.K. interview, he was asked whether he had to tell family members about AI-generated images of their wedding. Holland answered, “No, because they were all there,” then added, “That’s all you’ll get on that.” The AP report quotes his response; it does not provide a wedding date, venue, or ceremony details.
That report followed Zendaya’s March 2026 response to marriage rumors. Asked about them at a premiere, she declined to confirm them and spoke about protecting private parts of life. Her earlier response and Holland’s later remarks are separate, dated comments—not a joint announcement.
