The claim that a Tom Ellis-led FBI offshoot reached No. 8 days after dropping off U.S. streaming charts cannot be verified from the available chart evidence. No chart provider, dated ranking, earlier position, or confirmed 10-part count is established, so the movement should not be presented as fact.
What is known about the chart claim
The headline appears to refer to CIA, described as an offshoot of FBI associated with Tom Ellis. But the available official franchise pages do not confirm the reported No. 8 ranking or a return to a chart after falling off it. They also do not establish the episode count or verify Ellis’s role.

A streaming-chart position is meaningful only when readers can identify the chart owner, the chart’s date or measurement window, the geography, and what was ranked: a whole series, a season, or an individual episode. None of those details is established for this claim. There is also no basis here for calling the ranking a Nielsen result or for estimating an audience.
What official sources establish about FBI
The franchise background
CBS describes FBI as a drama centered on the Federal Bureau of Investigation and its unit. That confirms the franchise context, but it does not substantiate a chart event for CIA.

Historical U.S. streaming rights
In a September 30, 2021 announcement, Paramount said the first three seasons of FBI would be available to U.S. Paramount+ subscribers starting October 1, 2021. This is historical information about FBI; it does not establish where CIA streams now.
Do not confuse FBI Season 8 with CIA
A JustWatch page checked on October 3, 2026 lists streaming and purchase options for FBI Season 8. That listing concerns the parent series and a specific season, not CIA. It cannot verify the offshoot’s current U.S. availability or explain its alleged chart movement. See the JustWatch listing for FBI Season 8.

What would verify a streaming-chart rebound
To report the claimed movement accurately, a source would need to identify the chart and provide dated evidence for both the alleged absence and the later ranking. The comparison must use the same chart and comparable periods; otherwise, “days after falling off” may imply a direct return that the records do not show.
- Chart source: Name the service or publisher that issued the ranking and link to its chart record.
- Ranking date and scope: Specify the measurement period, U.S. geography, and whether the entry represents a series, season, or episode.
- Earlier status: Show the dated chart or methodology that supports the claim the title had fallen off.
- Identity: Confirm the exact title being ranked so an offshoot is not confused with FBI or one of its seasons.
- Episode count and cast: Attribute the 10-part count and Tom Ellis connection to a reliable official source rather than inferring either from the headline.
What viewers can conclude
The confirmed background is limited: FBI is a CBS drama, Paramount announced a U.S. streaming arrangement for its first three seasons in 2021, and a third-party listing reviewed in October 2026 covers FBI Season 8. Those facts do not verify the claimed No. 8 chart position, the supposed fall-off and return, the offshoot’s episode count, or its current U.S. streaming home. Until a dated chart record identifies the title and ranking, the headline’s chart narrative remains unconfirmed.
