What Todd Chrisley reportedly said as he left prison
AOL’s report says Todd Chrisley turned to Savannah after getting into her rented car and exclaimed, “You did it.” The line refers to Savannah helping bring about his return home. AOL’s full page was not available for independent transcript verification, so the quote is best understood as AOL’s reported account of the moment, rather than a directly verified transcript.
AOL’s indexed excerpt also quotes Grayson Chrisley saying in a confessional, “I mean it’s what we’ve been waiting on for three years.” That is a separate comment by Grayson, not Todd’s first words to Savannah.
When the Chrisleys were released
Todd and Julie Chrisley were released on May 28, 2025, after receiving presidential pardons. The U.S. Department of Justice-hosted pardon document grants Todd a full and unconditional pardon and directs the Acting Director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons to release him immediately: the pardon document. Later remarks were made in different settings
Todd’s first public news conference
Two days after release, Todd spoke at a Nashville news conference. The Associated Press reported him saying, “We’re blessed to have our family back, and we’re blessed to be coming back to television because we have a much bigger story to tell now than we ever have.” This was a later public statement, not the reported exchange in Savannah’s car. Their first meals and Todd’s shower joke
In a June 29, 2025 ABC News interview, the couple described early moments at home: their first post-prison meals came from Pizza Hut and Zaxby’s, and Todd joked that his first shower at home was “almost like your first sexual encounter.” These anecdotes came from a later interview, not the prison-exit moment. The first conversation on Savannah’s podcast
TV Insider reported that Todd and Julie appeared on Savannah Chrisley’s Unlocked podcast on July 1, 2025, for their first conversation since returning home. That appearance was another later setting, distinct from the reported car remark and Todd’s May 30 news conference. Read TV Insider’s report.
