Today’s Strands theme is “Crack and snack.” Start with the gentle hint—squirrels love these—and use the letter cues below if you need another nudge. The full word list and spangram appear after a spoiler warning.

What is today’s Strands theme?

The theme clue for Wednesday, February 11, 2026, is “Crack and snack.” A gentle hint: think of something squirrels love to eat.

What are the first-letter hints?

Use these opening pairs to narrow down the theme words, in order: PE, FI, AL, PI, CA, and MA. The spangram begins with GO.

How Strands works

In Strands, find the words connected to the theme to fill the board. You can drag or tap letters to form a word. The spangram describes the theme and touches two opposite sides of the board. Finding three non-theme words earns a hint. These directions are reproduced by Parade as New York Times gameplay instructions.

About the puzzle number

Parade identifies this puzzle as #710, while dailycryptic gives #880 for the same date. Because those reports conflict, the number is omitted here. Forbes confirms the six theme words but displays a spangram line reading “SIDING MATERIAL,” which does not match the GONUTS answer reported by Parade and dailycryptic.
