When is Deltarune Chapter 6 coming out?
Fox wrote in the Summer 2026 UNDERTALE/DELTARUNE newsletter, “I believe we will be able to release Chapter 6 in 2027.” That is his current expectation, not a firm launch commitment: the newsletter gives no month or day, and development could still change the timeline.
Chapter 5 had released about a month before the newsletter. Its release date had been announced as June 25, 2026, in the earlier official update.
Will Chapter 6 release with Chapter 7?
No. Fox explicitly addressed the question: “Chapter 6 would be released by itself, in case there’s any question about that…” His 2027 expectation therefore applies to Chapter 6 alone; the newsletter does not give a Chapter 7 release date.

What kind of chapter is Fox planning?
Fox describes Chapter 6 as “a shorter, straightforward chapter that focuses on one aspect of the story.” He says Chapter 5 completed the necessary setup for Chapters 6 and 7. From Chapter 6 onward, the story will begin tackling its main mysteries, though he says one matter will be clarified in Chapter 6 while other things remain untouched.
What is the development status?
Fox says he recently finished writing several more sequences toward Chapter 6’s last third and rearranging rooms to fit the new structure. The next stated milestone is to make those adjustments, connect the chapter, and reach a rough draft playable from beginning to end. He wrote, “Once we make these adjustments and tie everything together, we will be able to play rough draft of the chapter from beginning to end.”
After that, Fox says, the boss and cutscene polish are the main work expected to need development time, barring major restructuring. That qualification matters: the remaining-work outlook depends on the chapter not undergoing a substantial redesign.
What did the June 2026 update say?
The earlier June newsletter described progress across several parts of Chapter 6. Cutscenes and NPC interactions were progressing well; basic field mechanics, including wall climbing and puzzles, had been created, though some rooms remained to be made. Ordinary enemies and their bullet patterns were mostly complete, while work continued on the final battle’s bullet patterns.

Fox also said then that it was not unrealistic for some team members to begin Chapter 7 before the end of 2026. That was a forecast made in June, not confirmation that Chapter 7 development has started.

Fox says he does not personally read or watch theories because he already knows the game. He nevertheless describes speculation as part of the experience and encourages fans to keep making theories, art, and stories as the game continues. His caution is that fans may not have all the information or may combine clues differently from the way he intended.
Is new Deltarune merchandise coming?
Fox says Fangamer has released Chapter 5 merchandise and plans additional items, including merchandise for earlier chapters. He mentioned “a Queen plush or something” only as a possibility, not an announced product. He also told Fangamer not to expect much merchandise for Chapters 6 and 7. The newsletter does not establish current stock or availability for any item.
