These are post-broadcast details; the Associated Press’s advance announcement confirmed Chalamet’s booking but did not establish the eventual set list.

NBC lists the broadcast as Season 50, Episode 12, dated January 25, 2025, under the heading “January 25 – Timothée Chalamet.” The Associated Press reported before the broadcast that he would serve as both host and musical guest, marking his third time hosting. The official Saturday Night Live YouTube channel has a Chalamet monologue clip. Its description says he discusses playing Bob Dylan and an awards acceptance speech; it is not one of the musical performances, so do not mistake it for the song set.

Chalamet had recently portrayed Dylan in the film A Complete Unknown. The Associated Press reported that he learned guitar and harmonica as preparation for the role. That film-preparation detail does not establish which instruments he played during either SNL performance.

In a late-2024 interview quoted by the AP, Chalamet described being drawn to both intimate Dylan songs and songs with a rougher regional character:
“I like the more intimate songs like ‘Girl From the North Country’ or ‘Boots of Spanish Leather’ or ‘One Too Many Mornings’ or ‘Tomorrow Is a Long Time,’”
