The event was not made available to the White House press pool, according to the Post. Melania Trump described the gathering on social media as “a room of friends, family, and cultural iconoclasts.” That was her characterization of the guests, not an official attendee list.
Because the White House movie theater had been lost during East Wing demolition, the Post reported that organizers set up a makeshift theater in the East Room. Guests received monochrome refreshments and copies of Melania Trump’s memoir.

The screening had been scheduled before Alex Pretti was fatally shot in Minnesota on January 24. Coverage noted that timing, but it does not establish that the event was organized in response to the shooting.
