Tiler Peck and Roman Mejia’s partnership began onstage: Mejia recalls first dancing with Peck in the Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux at Vail in 2018. Their work later included Alonzo King’s Swift Arrow, while Peck has described their personal relationship as growing from a ballet partnership that already existed. The available interviews illuminate how they work together, but do not establish a wedding date or anniversary count.
How Peck and Mejia became dance partners
Mejia places their first shared performance at Vail in 2018. “I first partnered with Tiler in Vail in 2018. I got to do the Tchaikovsky Pas De Deux with her,” he told Alonzo King LINES Ballet. Peck’s account adds how the pairing came about: she recommended Mejia, then a New York City Ballet apprentice, for the performance, impressed by his musicality and their shared timing. Peck has said that dancing with Mejia feels “very much like a conversation.” The phrase describes more than a smooth partnership: it points to an exchange in which dancers listen and respond through timing and movement.
How their partnership developed in Swift Arrow
In 2021, Peck and Mejia performed Swift Arrow, a pas de deux choreographed by Alonzo King to original music by Jason Moran. It premiered at the Kennedy Center and was later performed at Vail. Peck also discussed the work after the pair performed it at New York City Center; a subsequent performance took place at Sadler’s Wells in 2023, according to LINES Ballet’s page, updated March 6, 2023.

The work gave the pair a different partnering challenge from their first performance. Peck says King encouraged her to let Mejia lead at certain points. Trust mattered because the roles of guiding and supporting could shift within the choreography. Mejia, for his part, says the choreography and music could feel different from one performance to another, so the dancers had to adapt in the moment.
Those accounts make Swift Arrow a useful window into their artistic partnership: not simply executing fixed steps, but adjusting to a choreographer’s process and to each performance as it unfolds.

What Peck has said about their personal relationship
In an ELLE interview published April 24, 2025, Peck described the relationship as growing from an established professional connection: “We started as partners at the ballet long before it was anything romantic, so we have a beautiful partnership in studio and on stage.” ELLE identified Mejia as Peck’s fiancé in its article framing. That interview supports the distinction Peck draws between their earlier ballet partnership and the later romantic relationship; it does not establish a wedding date or confirm their marital status after publication.
What is known about an anniversary
The interviews and dated material cited here do not verify a wedding anniversary or establish how many years the couple may be celebrating. The year 2018 is the date Mejia gives for their first shared performance, not evidence of a wedding or relationship anniversary. Without a reliable, direct statement about an anniversary, a specific date or count would be speculation.
