Who are Pookie and Jett?
Campbell and Jett Hunt Puckett are a married couple whose outfit-check videos became a recognizable TikTok format. “Pookie” is Jett’s nickname for Campbell, not her given name. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the pair met at a Philadelphia wine bar in 2015. They married in 2018, according to E! News’s March 5, 2024 interview.
What does “Pookie” mean, and how did the nickname begin?
For Campbell and Jett, “Pookie” is an affectionate pet name. In their joint E! interview, Jett said he started calling Campbell that within the first couple of weeks after they met. Campbell said she had asked him to give her a nickname. The word’s popularity online grew from their videos rather than from a special meaning they assigned to it.

Us Weekly dates a prominent “fire tonight” clip to January 28, 2024. That is a widely noted moment in the trend, not proof that it was the first post to take off. The couple told E! that they had already been helping style one another at home before posting more of the routine: “Before we were putting it online as much as we are now, we were literally doing the same thing at home,” Campbell said. “I would help him with his outfit, he would help me with my outfit. Now, we’re just recording it a little bit more, but it’s really us.”
How widely did the phrase spread?
Sprout Social’s 2025 social dictionary reported 4,436,428 social mentions during 2025 for “Pookie,” attributing the term’s popularity as an endearment to Campbell and Jett Puckett. What was the 2024 controversy?
In late January and early February 2024, images described by The Independent as showing Campbell in front of a Confederate flag and at an Antebellum-themed Ole Miss event circulated online and drew criticism. Those details are reported by The Independent; they should not be taken as a broader account of conduct beyond what that reporting describes.
In an Instagram Story statement reported by The Independent on February 5, Campbell said she had been 20 at the time and did not fully understand the impact of her actions. She apologized for the harm and said she took responsibility: “I fully apologise for the harm this may have caused for some and take full responsibility.” She also wrote, “Because we live our lives so publicly, everything is on the internet, even my mistakes.”

What happened after the viral moment?
Us Weekly’s relationship timeline reports that Campbell announced her pregnancy in June 2024 and that the couple announced their daughter’s birth in November 2024. These milestones came after the phrase had become a meme; they are part of the couple’s later public story, not the origin of their outfit-check format.
Their public profile has also extended into documented brand work. On February 20, 2026, The Daily Beast’s Scouted covered a Lola Blankets collaboration with Campbell: the Pookie Stone Croc faux-fur blanket. The report establishes that the collaboration was covered on that date; it does not establish whether the blanket is currently in stock or whether Campbell has an affiliate arrangement.
