Tiffany Haddish said in March 2024 that she had gone about 72 days without alcohol or cannabis, describing that period as court-mandated. In August 2026, she later said she had stopped drinking more than three years earlier and explained her decision in personal terms. Those are statements made at different times—not a current, independently verified measure of her sobriety.
What Haddish said about sobriety
In a March 22, 2024 episode of The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet, Haddish said: “I haven’t drank any alcohol, smoked any weed or anything in, like, 72 days.” Us Weekly reported that she described the abstinence as court-mandated at that point and said she was taking required driving alcohol tests. She connected those tests to the legal aftermath of her California arrest and the conditions tied to her Georgia case. Us Weekly, March 22, 2024
Haddish gave a later account in a post dated August 22, 2026, quoted by Us Weekly the following day. She said she had been alcohol-free for more than three years and wrote: “Hey, I stopped drinking altogether when I realized how much bad stuff I was seeing connected to alcohol.” That explanation adds a personal reason to the earlier court-related account. The duration and motivation are Haddish’s own statements; the reports do not independently verify continuous abstinence. Us Weekly, August 23, 2026
What happened in the two DUI cases?
The California and Georgia matters were separate cases, arising from arrests nearly two years apart and ending in different legal outcomes.

What the timeline does—and does not—establish
- The “about 72 days” figure belongs to Haddish’s March 2024 interview, not to a current count.
- Her August 2026 statement described more than three years without alcohol, while the earlier interview also mentioned cannabis. The later statement, as reported, was specifically about alcohol.
- The California DUI charges were dropped following the reported plea to a reduced offense; that is distinct from the guilty plea in the Georgia case.
- The arrests and public statements do not establish a diagnosis. The cited reports relay Haddish’s account and legal outcomes, not independent verification of her sobriety or treatment history.
