Purvis offered more context in statements reported separately by Bustle and TMZ. He said producers had learned about adult-film appearances he had made under an alias. In his account, he had not told CBS about that work before the show. His explanation is distinct from the production companies’ public wording: they cited false information on his application, not a specific type of work.
What did he say about the experience?
In the September 2020 statement reported by Bustle, Purvis said he had experienced a panic attack after learning about his removal and began attending therapy after returning home. He also said he was not ashamed of his past, describing the experience as something he had worked through and learned from.

In a caption from the immediate aftermath, reproduced by Queerty, Purvis thanked supporters and wrote that they had made him feel loved. In a later post quoted by Bustle, he wrote that a person’s past does not determine who they are or where they will end up. These posts record how he presented his feelings at the time; they do not document later developments.
What was Purvis doing in 2020?
Bustle reported that, while on the show, Purvis worked in home healthcare and was pursuing massage-therapy certification. The outlet also described his Instagram profile at the time as identifying him as a bodybuilder and Fitplan ambassador, and noted that he posted YouTube vlogs about workouts and road trips.
Those are time-specific details from 2020, not confirmation of his present job, training, social accounts, or relationship with any fitness service. The available reporting does not support treating them as a current biography.
