Thiaguinho’s career-management shift was announced in August 2021: reports said he expanded and restructured Paz & Bem to bring career management, publishing and label functions closer under his leadership. It was a change in how his business was organized—not evidence that he personally took over every operational task or cut all outside ties.
What changed at Paz & Bem in 2021
On 26 and 27 August 2021, reports described an expanded Paz & Bem that would manage Thiaguinho’s career and incorporate publishing and label functions. The change was also reported as ending a five-year partnership with Bruno Azevedo and Híbrido Eventos. The Music Journal Brazil’s report quoted Thiaguinho expressing gratitude for what had been built during Azevedo’s time with his team.

In a November 2021 GQ Brasil interview, Thiaguinho said he had assumed business command at Paz & Bem and was managing aspects of his career, including production and recording of his next albums. He described the decision as wanting to be closer to the administrative side of his publishing company, office and record label: “Administrativamente, senti que era a hora de estar mais perto. Tanto da minha editora quanto do escritório e da gravadora. É uma nova fase da vida.”
What “taking control” did—and did not—mean
The reports presented the restructuring as a shift toward greater involvement in career management and company functions. They do not establish that Thiaguinho personally performed every management, publishing or label task, or disclose ownership percentages, governance arrangements, revenue or profitability.

Nor did the change mean complete separation from outside businesses. POPline reported that Altafonte distributed Infinito Vol. 2, which was released on digital platforms and YouTube. That distribution relationship is distinct from the reported end of the Híbrido Eventos partnership.
Som Livre was a separate, disputed issue
Coverage also discussed Thiaguinho’s relationship with Som Livre, but it should not be conflated with the Híbrido Events arrangement. POPline reported that the artist’s side said the relationship ended because of difficulties developing artistic concepts. Som Livre, in turn, said it was surprised, said discussions were continuing, and maintained that it believed the contract remained in force and had been respected. Those were conflicting public positions; the reporting does not establish a legal outcome.

Later developments at the company
In an article published on 25 August 2026, Africanize reported that Paz & Bem CEO Ellen Barbosa took command of the company in 2022 and that Paz & Ritmo launched as a multiplatform content hub. Barbosa described the initiative as formalizing the company’s creative work and creating a place for conversations about music, careers and behind-the-scenes activity. These details are reported by Africanize; they are not independently confirmed here by corporate documentation.
The timeline matters: the restructuring was announced in 2021, while the leadership transition and Paz & Ritmo initiative are later developments. They do not change what the available reporting establishes about the original announcement.

TV Globo’s retrospective places his major television debut on the reality competition Fama in 2002 and describes a special as marking 20 years of his career. The page quotes him reflecting on the milestone and his longstanding ambition to make a living as a musician.
