Sunny Hostin debuted a shorter, shoulder-length ombré hairstyle on The View on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. The look paired dark roots with bright blonde lengths. Hostin said Nicole Ari Parker inspired it and credited her hairstylist, Matthew Yates, with recreating it.
What did Sunny Hostin’s new hairstyle look like?
Hostin appeared with hair that was shorter than the long curls she wore the previous day. The new style fell to her shoulders, with dark roots transitioning into bright blonde lengths. Yahoo Entertainment’s June 26, 2024 report, republishing Joey Nolfi’s Entertainment Weekly coverage, described it as a new hair transformation.
What inspired the look?
When Joy Behar asked, “Is that you real hair?” Hostin replied, “No, it’s not.” She then explained that she had seen actress Nicole Ari Parker at a party with hair like the style she wanted. Hostin said the look made such an impression that “the room shifted.” She sent a photo of Parker to her hairstylist, Matthew Yates, who agreed to recreate it.
“I actually was at a party with Nicole Ari Parker, and she came into the room with hair that looked like this. I felt like the room shifted. I was like, ‘I want that.’ I sent a picture of her to Matthew Yates, my hairstylist, and he said, ‘Say less.’”
