FX describes The Veil as an international spy thriller about two women caught in a dangerous contest of truth and lies. The story moves from Istanbul to Paris and London: one woman holds a secret, while the other has a mission to uncover it before many lives are lost. CIA and French DGSE controllers must cooperate behind the scenes to avert disaster. That is the network’s promotional synopsis, rather than a neutral account of the series’ realism or politics.

The central relationship gives the show a more personal focus than a plot driven only by intelligence agencies and operations. The cross-border setting supplies the larger thriller frame; the tension between the two women is the story’s stated core.
What does Steven Knight’s Peaky Blinders connection mean?
Steven Knight is the link: FX credits him as the writer and an executive producer of The Veil, and lists Peaky Blinders among his credits. That makes the connection a meaningful reason to look at the series, but not a guarantee that the two shows share the same style, characters or appeal.

Is The Veil worth watching?
It may suit viewers looking for a short, internationally staged spy drama with a high-profile lead and a story organized around a fraught relationship. But “can’t-miss” is a promotional judgment, not a critical consensus established by the reviews cited here.
In its April 30, 2024 review, TIME criticized Moss’s accent and argued that the character did not suit her. In a June 6, 2024 review, Le Monde questioned the geopolitical setup and described a shift from quasi-realistic espionage toward melodrama. Those are the reviewers’ assessments, not settled facts about every viewer’s experience.

How many episodes are in The Veil?
Hulu’s U.S. listing identifies The Veil as a 2024 TV-MA thriller/drama with one season and six episodes. It is a brief commitment compared with a multi-season series.

Where can you watch The Veil?
FX directs U.S. viewers to Hulu. Disney+ has an official series listing too, but that listing does not establish availability in every country; check the catalog and subscription terms for your territory before signing up or searching for the show.
The original U.S. release schedule is historical: D23 announced that the first two episodes would premiere on Hulu on April 30, 2024, followed by one new episode each Tuesday. That cadence describes the 2024 launch, not a current weekly release.
