The second season premiered on BINGE on 11 July 2024, with episodes announced for weekly release. Foxtel Group also listed Hubbl and Showcase/on-demand availability from that date. What is Season 2 about?
The story shifts to the fictional rural township of Tunkwell. Bernice Price, a local landowner and town matriarch, is found dead at the bottom of a well on her farm. Two former lovers are accused, and the jury must weigh whether her death was a crime of passion, a workplace accident or misfortune. Foxtel Group’s synopsis describes the case.

Sam Neill returns as barrister Brett Colby SC. Frances O’Connor joins him as fellow barrister Meredith Nelson-Moore SC. The ensemble also includes Fayssal Bazzi, Amy Mathews, Erroll Shand, Kris McQuade, Tasma Walton, Josh McKenzie, Anthony Brandon Wong and Stefanie Caccamo, among others. Where was The Twelve Season 2 filmed?
Production took place in Western Australia, with filming across Perth and the Wheatbelt beginning in August 2023. A Western Australian parliamentary record also identifies York among the locations. Tunkwell, by contrast, is the fictional town in the story—not a real filming location. The WA Government’s 2023 production announcement, Screenwest and the Parliament of Western Australia record identify the state and locations.
The state government estimated in 2023 that production would generate $9.6 million in expenditure in Western Australia. In a September 2024 release, it reported that the completed season had delivered $9.6 million to the WA economy and supported more than 650 jobs. Those figures come from different government publications: one was an estimate, the other a later report of economic contribution. The 2024 release also described the season as the highest-budget production filmed entirely in Western Australia at that time. The 2023 announcement and the 2024 update provide those figures and context.
