By cumulative weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” led the chart as of September 2026, with 23 weeks at the top. That is a measure of chart longevity—not recording runtime. A secondary chart-history listing reports 24 weeks on the chart dated October 3, 2026, but that later total was not confirmed by a direct Billboard chart page in the sources cited here.
The longest-running Hot 100 No. 1
“Choosin’ Texas” by Ella Langley reached 23 weeks at No. 1, passing Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which had accumulated 22 weeks. Billboard reported Langley’s record in September 2026, with the Associated Press and Los Angeles Times also reporting the 22-week prior mark. Billboard, Associated Press and Los Angeles Times coverage supports those September totals.
A chart-history listing subsequently gives “Choosin’ Texas” 24 weeks for the chart dated October 3, 2026. Because the direct Billboard chart confirmation for that specific tally was not established, treat 24 as a secondary listing’s chart-date figure rather than a verified Billboard announcement. Here, “longest” means the most total weeks a song spent at No. 1 on the U.S. Hot 100. It does not mean the song with the longest runtime in minutes. Nor does a cumulative total necessarily mean a song stayed at No. 1 for that many consecutive weeks: Carey’s holiday hit accumulated its 22 weeks across multiple chart appearances.
