The Simpsons marked its 800th episode with “Irrational Treasure,” a Philadelphia-set adventure featuring Noah Wyle, Taylor Dearden, Katherine LaNasa, Quinta Brunson, Questlove and Kevin Bacon. FOX announced the episode for Sunday, February 15, 2026.

The role descriptions are those supplied in FOX’s episode materials; the publicity does not give character names for Wyle, Dearden or LaNasa. FOX Local notes that Brunson, Bacon and Questlove are Philadelphia natives, a connection that suits the episode’s setting. The three performers in the medical roles are also associated with The Pitt, the medical drama set in Pittsburgh.
What is the 800th episode called, and what happens?
The milestone episode is titled “Irrational Treasure.” FOX’s synopsis begins with Marge entering Santa’s Little Helper in canine agility competitions. The contest leads the family to Philadelphia for the National Dog Show, where Marge and Homer become caught up with the dog in a historical-conspiracy adventure. FOX likens the story’s premise to National Treasure; it is a comparison of the adventure style, not an indication that the episode adapts that film.

FOX listed “Irrational Treasure” for Sunday, February 15, 2026, in the 8:00–8:30 p.m. ET/PT slot. FOX Local also reported the February 15 premiere on FOX.
How the episode fits the 800-episode milestone
The Associated Press reported that The Simpsons had reached 800 episodes across 37 seasons as the milestone arrived in February 2026. Former showrunner and executive producer Al Jean told AP that the series’ return to its starting point at the end of each episode was part of its longevity: “We’ve done 800 episodes, and I’m really glad we didn’t do a big overarching story.”

Current showrunner Matt Selman reflected on the show’s continuity in the same AP report: “Do these characters have the emotional memory of the 800 things that have happened to them? … I don’t really know the answer to that.” The episode’s standalone Philadelphia caper sits comfortably within that long-running format.
