Since then, some of its young actors have continued working on screen, while Mike Vitar left acting in the late 1990s. Here’s what later credits and documented cast appearances show—without treating older reporting as confirmation of anyone’s present-day job or private life.
Where are the young actors from The Sandlot now?
The cast took different paths after the film. The credits below trace documented acting work; they are not a complete account of anyone’s current employment or personal circumstances.

| Tom Guiry | Scotty Smalls | The Black Donnellys, The Revenant, Brawl in Cell Block 99, and Wonder Wheel. |
| Mike Vitar | Benny “the Jet” Rodriguez | Appeared in D2: The Mighty Ducks, D3: The Mighty Ducks, and Chicago Hope. CBS reported in 2013 that he had retired from show business in the late 1990s and become a Los Angeles firefighter. |
| Patrick Renna | Ham Porter | Continued acting in film and television. An April 2026 retrospective lists the 2024 releases You Gotta Believe and Monster Summer. |
| Chauncey Leopardi | Squints | Later credits include Casper, Houseguest, Freaks and Geeks, and Gilmore Girls. |
| Marty York | Yeah-Yeah | Later television credits include Boy Meets World and SMILF. The April 2026 retrospective also reports a guest appearance on Abbott Elementary. |
The remaining principal cast includes Brandon Quintin Adams, Grant Gelt, Shane Obedzinski, and Victor DiMattia, alongside adult cast members Karen Allen, Denis Leary, and James Earl Jones. The sources establish their roles and document some reunion appearances, but do not provide equally current career updates for every performer. For the film’s cast and roles, see the Rotten Tomatoes cast listing and the Library of Congress film catalog.
Mike Vitar left acting; the firefighter report is dated
Vitar played Benny, the group’s talented older baseball player, and later appeared in two Mighty Ducks sequels and Chicago Hope. A 2013 CBS report said he retired from show business in the late 1990s and became a Los Angeles firefighter. That is a historical report, not a fresh confirmation of his current employment. CBS’s 2013 anniversary report provides that dated account.

The cast has reunited for anniversary events
The actors have returned to celebrate the film together. In July 2018, MLB covered an All-Star Week reunion featuring seven cast members and director David Mickey Evans. Guiry recalled, “It felt like a summer camp, a baseball summer camp.” Renna said, “We just played baseball together for a couple weeks — that’s how we got to know each other.” MLB’s July 13, 2018 report details the reunion and quotes.
Us Weekly also reported that several cast members attended a 2023 charity event. York described fans continuing to recognize him for playing Yeah-Yeah. These appearances show the cast reconnecting publicly; they do not establish what each performer is doing today. See Us Weekly’s cast retrospective for its career summaries and event coverage.

What the cast’s later careers show
There is no single post-film path for The Sandlot cast. Renna, Guiry, Leopardi, and York have documented later screen credits; Vitar’s acting career ended in the late 1990s, according to CBS’s 2013 report. For several other performers, the available coverage confirms their place in the ensemble and some reunion appearances, but does not support a similarly detailed update. The most recent roundup cited here is AOL’s April 12, 2026 retrospective, which lists newer credits for Renna and York: AOL’s “Where Is ‘The Sandlot’ Cast Now?”.
