Daniel Weyman, who plays Gandalf in The Rings of Power, says the wizard will enter Season 3 with new confidence and agency. Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con, Weyman said Gandalf “has arrived in season three” and is “in his power.” Amazon’s official guide lists the season’s Prime Video premiere for November 11, 2026.
What did Daniel Weyman say about Gandalf in Season 3?
At a San Diego Comic-Con panel, Weyman described Gandalf as the wizard viewers “hopefully know and love,” saying he has arrived, is in his power, and has agency as darkness rises in Middle-earth. Those are the actor’s character judgments, not an official plot synopsis. GamesRadar+ reported Weyman’s panel remarks.
What is confirmed about Season 3’s story?
Amazon’s official synopsis places the season five years after the fall of Eregion. Sauron’s armies have advanced, and he is working to forge the One Ring. The remaining resistance is centered on Khazad-dûm, Lindon, and Rivendell. That setup gives Weyman’s comments about Gandalf’s agency a clear context, but Amazon’s synopsis does not spell out the wizard’s specific actions.
Amazon’s Season 3 guide also identifies J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay as showrunners and executive producers.
